“Nice enough, but....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

The rooms were basic, small TV but with 3 English channels, nice, clean, good location, etc. The best thing was the comfortable size of the rooms - no tripping over chairs and beds on those midnight trips to the bathroom. Also, the breakfast buffet, while containing standard Turkish breakfast fare, was superior for its fresh produce, perfect borek, and extremely tasty bread. The only "but" is the discrepancy between the price advertised in the 2011 Lonely Planet and what they charged us, a difference of 20 TL. The only answer we got when we pointed this out and requested the advertised price was that LP must have made a mistake. October is not high season, so there didn't sem to be a logical reason for risking a loss of custom or a bad review, but maybe they can get away with it. Maybe their fresh cucumbers....

Room Tip: On the upper floors the view is good from the side facing the mosque. You can see part of the city...

“Comfortable, quiet and great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2011

I am guessing the maybe the management has changed since the issues of rate quoted vs rate demanded. We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. It is centrally located so within walking distance of many of the important sites. The rooms was very comfortable, clean and roomy. The breakfast buffet was stupendous with lots of variety and quantity. We'd stay here again in a minute..

“In the heart of Bursa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2010

Although I read some bad comments about this hotel I can only say that I spent two nights with my wife in a very centred hotel and close to any important place of Bursa. About it staff as It was told in previous remarks, all women, with different characters of course, but most of them very friendly. Due to the gender, you can see the female touch in their hotel, clean rooms, good breakfast and a nice smile in reception. It is a good place to stay there. About the noise, their good windows are going to isolate you from the street and the next bazar. A next parking will provide you with a slot to leave your car for 6-9 euros per day. The hote, good value for the price.

“Excellent choice in Bursa, and clean, but worth negotiating and comparing with Hotel Efehan next door”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2009

I stayed at the Cesmali for one night in August 2009 and arrived at about 8pm without a reservation, and was given a room after taking a look and agreeing on a price of 55 TYL in a twin-room for one.

Its location is superb - right in the middle of Atatuke Caddesi but down a side street which leads onto the bazaar, and bus 38 from the train Otogar takes you right there though negotiating the busy Ataturk Caddesi can be a task in itself at all hours.

My room was very spacious, and clean, though a little non-descript. Windows were double-glazed which kept out all the noise outside. There's also free in-room wi-fi, good air-con, plenty of blankets, comfortable bed, cable TV, good strong shower and an excellent breakfast included in the price served between 7-10am.

However, the hotel staff (all women) were a little standoffish, and seemed annoyed at various requests from guests, and there was a lack of electric plugs in the rooms for chargers etc. But otherwise, a solid choice - better than the Efehan next door even though the latter is much prettier.

“Comfortable hotel in busy city center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2009

This is a hotel run by women only, don't ask me why. It is a bit dated, but our romm was clean, with an air-co, the breakfast was more than sufficient and most staff members were friendly and helpful. (We were lost in the maze of streets and one of the staff members recognized us and pointed the way).
There is a parking building right next to it: very convenient.
