We had booked quite late our tickets for Epidavros theater and planned to see Richard III with Kevin Spacey (in an excellent performance!). As always, all hotels were booked in Nafplion and the surrounding areas leaving us with Eden Beach hotel. It was cheap in comparison to other hotels in the area.
The hotel is very old, it reminds me of houses in villages; very, very old but clean, sunny, with well preserved green areas surrounding it. The staff was polite and helpful. After you overcome the initial shock of the room (it is old..) you may see that the location is beautiful; the rooms have a peaceful view of the hotel's gardens and the sea. Breakfast is one of the worst I have ever seen; the cheapest of ham, cheese or bread. There are restaurants and bars located in the sea side road next to the hotel - but someone who knows all the excellent choices Nafplion and the surrounding areas have to offer would never choose to go there. A car is needed so as to visit around. The hotel has a spacious free parking. The beach in front of the hotel was clean and although not not very nice, it is convenient. The sunbeds are not included in the price but we had free of charge one coffee each day served at the beach.
The hotel was fully booked because of the Epidavros performances otherwise I would only picture maybe older customers staying there for their vacations.
