“Beautiful location”

I stayed for 1 night at the Rose garden Riverside hotel as part of a tour around the 'Central Plains' area of Thailand on a photography assignment. My room was on the 8th floor with a balcony overlooking the Ta Chine river. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, complimentary water and fruit and a good electronic safe (big enough for a laptop). The air con. was very efficient.

The toiletries in the bathroom were nice (lemon grass soap) and bigger versions can be bought in the hotel foyer. However the bathroom was a bit dated in its lighting and decoration although the shower worked very well.

The food is very good with an excellent evening buffet and a very extensive breakfast menu including fresh fruit, pastries and delicious freshly cooked coconut pancakes. The location was ideal for the work I was undertaking.

My main complaint was that not only was there a charge for internet connection (via a cable provided in the hotel room), it was expensive - about £12 (600THB) for 24-hours and it was also very slow. In this day and age, especially in hotels where there are likely to be business travellers, internet access should either be free or if charged should be of a good speed. However, overall the hotel is very nice and set in beautiful gardens with free 'cultural shows' each afternoon of local customs including Thai boxing, bamboo dancing and an elephant show.

“A Nice Retreat From Bangkok Bustle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2010

We stayed here on New Year's Eve to attend a friend's wedding. It was just one night so we didn't get to explore the entire grounds, but the number of activities available was impressive. The Resort is about a 45 minute taxi ride from downtown Bangkok and set on beautiful manicured grounds that include a pond, river, and traditional Thai houses.

Rooms: Large in size, comfortable beds, refrigerator, safe, complimentary water each day, and powerful air conditioning. The bathroom is also very spacious, but the decor is extremely dated.

Service: Everyone was very anxious to help, but there were some language barriers that meant we weren't always sure they understood what we needed or if they had in fact taken care of it.

Hotel: Breakfast was included and HUGE (we paid $2009 baht / night - discounted 30% for wedding guests). Tons of Western and Thai choices. Internet is available in the lobby at two computers for free. The pool is nice with plenty of pool chairs. We didn't eat in any of the other restaurants because the wedding functions were all catered, but assuming the same people cook for the restaurants and catering I can tell you everything we had to ate was delicious! Spicy where it should be, and super fresh seafood.

If you have kids or a group, this is a great location to bring everyone with tons of activities and food for all.

“Good getaway from Bangkok”

The Rose Garden Riveside was the venue for a meeting/workshop, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Sprawling grounds (to be explored on a rental bike), beautifully manicured lawns, lots of greenery, as well as quiet shaded spots by the river.

Rooms and bath were a bit dated, but otherwise very clean.

“Great, reasonable getaway from Bangkok.”

I have been here many times for business meetings and retreats and visited once with the family to see the cultural show and gardens.

The grounds are beautifully maintained and the property is set on a lazy river where you can see old, traditional boats go by. Rooms are spacious and a bit dated, but comfortable.

They have a floating restaurant with excellent Thai food (authentic, watch out for the spicyness!). A comprehensive breakfast buffet overlooking the river and the pool.

Additionally, they have many other activities including a good spa, cultural show, elephants and even a shooting range. This is in the country about an hour outside of Bangkok. A new getaway for a reasonable price.

Probably not the first pick for visitors but great for a quick getaway for locals and expats who are tired of the noise in Pattaya or the long drive to Hua Hin. Their conference facilities are very good and within driving distance for a day long or two day meeting.

“Hidden Gems Inside The Rose Garden”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2009

I absolutely love the relaxing few days spent at the Rose Garden Riverside and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a retreat from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. It took only 40 minutes by car from the BKK International Airport!
I love every experience about the place. Peace and tranquility around the garden of fragrant flowers, exotic plants, old and new trees (some of these exotic trees have been there for more than half a century). The original bullet wood tree the founder of the place first saw and fell in love with before building their family house and the resort around it, is still there!
Feel the genuine hospitality from the lovely staffs, most of who are from the local communities around the Nakom Pathom area and have worked in the resort for the longest time.
Made with the freshest ingredients from traditional family recipes, Thai food has never tasted so delicious. Even the good old Tom Yam Kung tasted special. And the coconut desserts just melts in your mouth. Hmmm.... I am definitely going back for more!
Oh, I must not forget to mention I carted back resort-made toiletries from the gift shop. Good quality stuff and prices are so reasonable... the must haves are virgin coconut oil, bullet wood body moisturizer, lemon grass shower gel and the sesame flavoured lip balm.
