“Be very careful before staying and keep your wallet close”

We had a very unfortunate ending to what actually was a very nice stay. A group of about 80 joined me and my family for a weekend affair. The hotel was very accommodating and the staff worked hard to make sure everything went smoothly. Beautiful grounds, spectacular views. Rooms are average and the hotel lacks an outdoor pool (there is one indoor pool and spa).

The problem with the hotel is theft (the police confirmed that this was definitely not the first time) For us, it started on Saturday morning with a cash theft from a guests room. We took it to security who were at best good listeners. We thought we'd write it off to an unfortunate incident. Later however we learned than at least two other rooms had been robbed of cash and there likely were others. What was so disturbing about this was that the hotel supposedly had a video system in the hallways but the management refused to allow us or the police to see it (a report was filed and a warrant issued but we never heard back). And, we noticed that the rooms that had been 'hit' were only those that were booked to Sunday morning (most left that Saturday night). We also realized that the rooms were all targeted when the families were at the front desk for short 15 minutes to half hour intervals while working out plans for the following day -- an expected and predictable event. We believe that many workers at the hotel were involved which would make this an organized effort and something to take very seriously before booking there. Watch you cash and your wallet.

“What a great experience !”

We stayed at the C hotels Neve ilan for the first days of passover.
What a great experience we had, rooms where very clean, and staff was more than friendly.
Food was superb, taking into account that passover gives a hard time to those who try to be good.
The passover meal, was very nicely served.
We'll come back !!

“Stay away”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 March 2010

I had to stay for 3 nights during a business training/conference. As a frequent traveller, i found the C hotel Neve ilan hotel overpiced even for israeli stds and dirty ,we stayed in the better 4th floor rooms which were promoted as business deluxe rooms but no better than any run down motorway motel in the US. The conference room we were given had a terrible stink coming from the adjoining hotel kitchen.
SLOWWW Internet was offered for 18$ /24hrs... there is nothing to do in the evening unless you decide to negotiate a 20km taxi ride to Jerusalem , , the pool is the community one and just the community gym is ok, (they are not part of the Hotel) but nothing else as the area around is under construction.
Seems its popular with religious travel groups , if you can avoid it, you better.

“Just avoid Basil...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2010

If you can avoid the Basil Fawlty manager character that lurks around this hotel ready to tell you off for such crimes as arriving at the restaurant 5 minutes after closing or daring to want to pay $15 for 4 coffees after dinner then this is a pleasant hotel. The corridors on each floor are on a curve that can seem to go on forever and ever when you're returning to your room at the end of the day but I suppose it's character. The rooms are clean, they have AC but it's not switched on unless the Israelis think it's hot and there are tea and coffee making facilities, well, there's a kettle and sachets, you are meant to buy the milk each day from the bar. The shower is nice and strong and the TV picks up English speaking channels. The location is OK, you will need a car to get to Jerusalem and the locality is a bit of a building site but it's not too bad. Arriving back in the coach the 13 speed bumps you have to go over were a bit much but I survived! The dining hall is large and well stocked, the stray cats staring wistfully in through the windows and the praying mantis on the ceiling were an interesting addition! We enjoyed the communal seating in the lobby but missed out on the outside seating that was also meant to be very nice. Rumour had it that there was also a gym that you had to pay to use, not sure if this is true. Coming from the UK I was slightly surprised to see the receptionist had marked our nationality on the bill as The Netherlands but I guess it doesn't matter. Interestingly while we were there the hotel seemed to be changing currency at a spectacularly good rate, they must have been making a loss, but when we pointed it out they were adamant that they were correct...which is just fine by us.

“Nice Hotel in Judean Hills outside Jerusalem”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2009

We stayed two nights, one of which was on a holiday. The hotel is equivalent to a nice Holiday Inn. The rooms were clean and comfortable, except for the chairs. The quality of the facilities were highly variable, but the important ones, like the dining room, lobby and patio were very nice. It was very pleasant to sit out on their deck having something to drink in the evening, while enjoying the cool breeze of the Jerusalem hills. Service was very good. Everyone seemed to want to please, and the holiday crowd did not seem to be too much for them. Parking is free and relatively close to the entrance. Nearby Abu Gosh offers some excellent Arab restaurants. there is a pool and sports club next to the hotel, which guests can use.
