We booked this hotel as it was convenient for the airport, included transfers within its tariff and looked a nice place to stay. It was also competitively priced, many less attractive hotels were more expensive, and quite a few added a transfer fee to the accommodation and parking as an optional extra. [As an aside - that baffles me. Surely anyone booking a park and fly, and so leaving their car at the hotel, is fairly likely to want to get to the airport from the hotel, and back again after the holiday? This seems an example of the approach to pricing by a well-known Irish airline – “spot the extra charges”. Winford Manor is, on the other hand, an example of the approach by a well-known exterior paint manufacturer – “it does what it says on the can”.]
The hotel was very clean and tidy, and nicely decorated. Parking was convenient for arrival and taking cases in to our room. Parking while we were away was also convenient.
We had dinner at the hotel which was very good. The restaurant was attractive and well-appointed. We could have had a light meal in the Atrium instead, though we didn’t realise this at the time.
The room was neat and the bed was comfy. The en-suite bathroom was nicely fitted out – it was a wet-room. Tea and coffee making stuff in the room, and a TV.
The people at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.
Transfer to the airport was quick – it’s only about 7 minutes away – and the collection on our return went very smoothly. There is a direct line to the hotel reception from the airport arrivals hall. You just press a button on a designated wall phone (the button is marked “Winford”) and tell them you are ready to be picked up. Collection is from the quick drop off point – just around the corner from the main entrances/exits to the terminal.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting an overnight stay with park and fly for Bristol airport.
