“Great for family reunions/groups”

I love this place. The rooms are simple, clean, comfortable, quiet, and the price is right. While I was there the pool was kept crystal-clear clean. The Lodge is surrounded by trees and I enjoyed swimming in the evening looking up at the trees and stars and later relaxing in the Jacuzzi. (The pool was heated during my visits.) We had a nice 4th of July barbeque picnic on the lawn next to the pool and then we drove about 5 minutes to the Valhalla to watch the fireworks. I returned with two friends at the end of September, as well. It was nice to have a wood-burning fireplace in our room. It's about a 20-minute drive to the Emerald Bay lookout point with stunning views along the way. It's about a 10-minute drive to the casinos and nightclubs. When I told the owner that I was thinking of booking a family ski trip this winter he happily showed me some other rooms that were vacant. The layout of the studios/cabins and the prices charged are perfect for groups. I am looking forward to booking my family’s ski trip here this winter.

“Great rustic rooms and a good value too!”

We had to go to Lake Tahoe for a wedding and wanted something where most of the party could be at the same place. I was a little worried since we didn't know anything about this place but it was great! The rooms were like a duplex with a small kitchen area and a woodburning stove. They had a nice outdoor area with a heated pool. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a clean, comfortable, affordable place to get together and stay with family or friends.

“Excellent Lazy Lodge”

Thank you Tripadvisor users for recommending the Lazy Lodge at South/
West Lake Tahoe! My parents from Italy, my husband and I stayed at this quiet motel and we absolutely loved it! All cars are parked directly behind the rooms and from the front porches guests only see the pool, jacuzzi, grassy area, BBQ sites, and trees. We enjoyed our apartment very much: my husband and I slept on the comfortable futon in the living room and my parents slept on the king bed in the master
bedroom. We walked to the cafes/restaurants/shops by the Y, rent bikes and rode on the bike path, hiked to the trails close by, and relaxed to the beach. All of this is walking distance! The lodge location is quiet and surrounded by green; the rooms are clean and with personality; the bathrooms have nice towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner; the communal yard is fantastic just to relax in the shade, sunbath on the comfortable chairs or have a fun BBQ; the service is friendly and helpful. I cannot wait to return to the Lazy Lodge at South/West Lake Tahoe!

“A real gem”

I've stayed here 2 nights, Feb 18th and 19th 2005, president's day weekend. We were there for skiing at Sierra at Tahoe.
Such a nice homely place! They have rooms with microwaves and fridges for 79 and with the full kitchenettes for 89. They add 10 dollars for holidays. Now here's what you get:
1. A nice quiet place tucked away from casinos. Perfect in winter, if you're there for skiing, not gambling.
2. A place that just turned up from the sixties, cozy and comfortable, they have tables and sixties like armchairs.
3. Decent management
4. The Y and Meyers traffic lights are the only two lights separating you from Sierra at Tahoe, imagine the trouble getting there on a busy weekend or holiday morning, through a dozen lights from the casino area

A minor point: kids count as adults here. Motel Six counts them as kids, so try Motel Six first to get a better price, they also have the microwave and fridge,no tables though.

“Good value, very well maintained”

I liked this place and I felt it was a good value compared to most alternatives in the Camp Richardson area. It must date back to the 1960s but it is very well maintained. No A/C but there is a ceiling fan. The bike trail going north starts right behind this motel and a bike rental place is just a stone's throw away. Our basic room was $88 with tax and I would have opted for the 2 room suite if we had been spending more than one night. All rooms have a frig and microwave. Kitchenettes are available. This probably is not a good option for those more interested in being near casinos and restaurants, although we had a good dinner at the Cantina half a mile away.
