we stayed during the christmas weekend. rooms were clean and comfortable. free breakfast was pretty good. its not self-serve, you have to be seated and order from a menu. menu had eggs, toast, pancakes, juice, coffee, and all were very good and a friendly staff. beach/lake is one block away and heavenly is less than 2 blocks away.

Although this hotel belongs to a network of reputable hotels, care of employees is simply cold, without any interest when problems are presented by the guests. The Internet did not work permanently. We were four guests, but they offered only three towels. The beds were not queen of the model and the room was very small and dark, dim lights. The breakfast was wonderful, nothing more.

We decided to selebrate our anniversary on November 13 in South Lake Tahoe. After going several web sites, we reserved a honey moon suite for 3 days at Best Western for two reasons. 1, There was two 42 inch TV's in the suite and 2. There was a restautant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel. When we arrived November 12, we were told, that the restaurant was only open for breakfast. Also when we got to the suite, there was only one 42 inch TV and a 22 inch TV.The girl at the reception had a very bad attitude, but when the nigth clerk came on, he gave us another room.
So be sure that you get what they advertise, BEFORE you make reservation.

Well our road trip was now well and truly underway, in fact we had done so many miles in the last few days the planned two night stop at Lake Tahoe South became a four night stopover.
I researched the area and we decided on the Station House Best Western Plus in South Lake Tahoe. Upon our arrival we found the location excellent and the layout even better. The traditional log cabin theme blended in with the area. Having booked online the night before, the check in was quick efficient and friendly. I know that there were cheaper Hotels in the area, but sometimes cheap is not always the best.
Now for the bed bug test we examined all the room and I can report that there were NO BED BUGS.
We found the room a little small but it was clean, good tv, comfortable chairs and the bathroom was above average as was the room. Reception provided beach towels and a beach pass for the shared beach. The location of the beach was just a short walk. It was clean and well protected. One day there was some rowdy upper class students on the beach and they were obviously drinking, hey I can tell you that they were quickly dealt with and removed.
The breakfast was free and the quality of the service and food was top drawer. There was high speed internet access in the rooms but wifi was only in the reception area. This was the only downside. They did advise that they were thinking about extending the wifi in the near future..(we shall see).
The area was real good for jogging even at that altitude I experienced no problems.
South Lake Tahoe on the California side had most things, like Starbucks good restaurants and even fast food and even a cinema. The Nevada side had four giant casino hotels and little else. The choice was there Nevada or California as the state line is in right in the middle and a short walk from the CA side where we were staying at.
Did we feel safe there? Yes very safe
Would we stay there again? Yes
I can honestly say to all you out there, stay at this hotel you will not be disappointed.
