I don't usually write reviews, but planned to give positive feedback on Stardust as although the place is a little tired, Jose on reception was very helpful and the hotel is in a great place if you're there to ski, as the gondola is just across the road.
Unfortunately, my watch went missing from my room and nobody took it at all seriously. The response from the management was something like, we wouldn't have taken it. The best I could get from them was the the local police number, but only when I asked for it.
I would have rated this hotel higher if they had dealt with my missing watch approptiately.

Dear Ble64,
I’m glad that you had a good time at the Stardust and that you were planning on giving positive feedback before you lost your watch. Yes, our location is great, and so is our staff as you noticed in your dealings with Jose. Perhaps, because we know our staff members so well and intentionally aim at consistently great customer service, we were firm in insisting (when you checked out and told us you couldn’t find your watch) that the watch was not missing because of any foul play on our part.
After you left, we immediately assigned the cleaning of your room to one our housekeeping staff members who found your watch in the top drawer of the clothes dresser. The phone number you gave us did not work, but we did finally reach you and have since mailed your watch to you.
We understand how uncomfortable you must’ve felt when you could not find your watch and it’s too bad that affected your otherwise fine stay with us. If you come back to the states and Lake Tahoe, we hope you stay and enjoy our local skiing and comfortable accommodations again.
Kathleen
