“This is a beautiful location for both summer and winter visits.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We have stayed at this location several times, both for business and pleasure and are always pleased with everything about this place. The facility is located twenty feet (approx) from the Nevada border which means the doors to Harrah's Casino is a short walk across the drive way. On the other side of the hotel there is a great complex with some time share vacation facilities and numerous restaurants and stores to keep you busy as well as an ice skating rink in the winter. And, of course not to forget the Heavenly Gondola that will whisk you up the mountain to site see, ski or in the summer hike. Unforgettable views of Lake Tahoe on a clear day. As for the Embassy Suites it is a really nice place to stay. The rooms are spacious, neat, and clean with everything you need. One of the best aspects of the hotel is the complimentary morning fully cooked breakfast (6:30 to 10am) and the evening Manager's Reception happy hour (complimentary drinks - wine, beer, cocktails, plus snacks like popcorn and veges). No reason to go anywhere else with those two. If you are a Hilton Honors Gold Member you can take the happy hour to the bar and enjoy to setting back there. Don't worry about parking as there is plenty of free parking in the back and if desired valet is available for covered parking. Other services in the area include a super market and movie theater within one-two blocks. For those who have never been to Lake Tahoe don't forget to take the drive around the lake-beautiful. Enjoy, Tahoe is one of those special places.

“Loved our stay at Embassy Suites in Lake Tahoe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

The week here to ski at Heavenly felt like a second honeymoon! We had a great room, and I especially liked being able to say "no, thanks" to maid service daily as we didn't need it. We are kind of neat anyway. We just hung the "do not disturb" card on the door handle daily until mid-week. She cleaned and then we hung it again the rest of the week.
The pool and hottub were most welcome - used them daily. The fitness room was also nice and handy but never used - no time. The Manager's reception daily was over the top with free liquor and snacks daily. All wait staff most friendly especially if you collected your snack and beverage containers on one tray and set them near her cart.
The valets handled our skiis in a locked room next to concierge. The front desk outdid themselves copying the ski trail report daily for our needs, changing a large bill to smaller bills, answering questions. They couldn't have been more friendly/helpful.
I can't wait to return next year!

“Very average... not up to the reputation of a Hilton property.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Everyone is extremely friendly. But the little things are making me re-consider ever returning to this hotel. The cleanliness of the rooms is sub-par for a Hilton property. Dirty shower door rails (not sure what it was, but it was disgusting). At 7:30 in the morning, neither myself nor my colleagues had hot water in the showers. Little touches were missing. Like having a nice flat screen tv in the "living room" area, but an old tube type TV with an extremely poor picture in the bedroom. And not replacing the water bottles in the room.

“Don't Stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The room was particularly gloomy, due to the deployment of low energy light bulbs coupled with the lack of natural light.
The wardrobe doors were of the old mirrored sliding type with aluminium runners and a gold coloured aluminium handle attached to, and running the whole way down the leading edge of the mirror. The handle came away from the mirror at the bottom, leaving mirror leading edge, my spouse cut her hand on it exposed as sharp and dangerous.
Frayed carpet exposed sharp carpet grippers, a danger to tiny toes,
Stained carpets, cobwebs on the ceiling, chipped paintwork, unsecured vanity panel, old bedding, and a TV whose format provides an indication of the last time the room was refurbished>
I made continuous and repeated requests to make an appointment to speak to the General Manager about these things and the poor management of the hotel in general, sadly he chose not to meet or contact me. His management approach resounds throughout the organisation - very few members of staff really care too much about the guest experience.
The general hotel experience and room servicing in particular lacks any care, food not taken away and rubbish not emptied for three days!
Having bought into the Hilton brand at $300 per night I expected more, actually the plastic table cloths in the dining room tell the whole story.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else
