Two Thumbs up..... Great free breakfast, 10 taxi ride to casinos, clean updated rooms (besides old tv), right off the lake. Really nice and highly recommend.

I feel silly writing this review as I really didn't partake in many of the services they offer. So, my extremely pared down review is that it was wonderful.

Because we were there for a wedding, we had many events to attend that left us without the chance to try the food. However, upon checking out during Sunday breakfast hours, I had a chance to observe the setup and, even with many patrons, it seemed to have a good flow.

We booked through a third party because we were trying to avoid staying at the highly overpriced hotel recommended for the wedding. We are SO grateful that we did. While everybody in attendance at the wedding bemoaned high prices and crummy rooms, we were showing off pictures of our perfect third floor lake view room. It was unbelievable. The bride even jokingly asked if we'd be willing to donate our room as a wedding gift. The view was especially notable because, given that we did book through a third party at a discounted rate, we did not expect to be given such an amazing room and service.

It was clean. The fireplace was cozy. The beds were comfortable. It was quiet. The front desk people were extremely friendly. And, most amazing of all, the picturesque view with a balcony could not have been any better.

Thank you, Best Western, for a great first stay in Tahoe and for making us the envy of 100 wedding guests who will all keep you in mind for their next visit, I'm sure.

This was our first time in South Lake Tahoe & choosing Timber Cove Best Western made it even more of a memorable stay. The location was excellent: on the lake, near local stores, ski resorts, restaurants, casinos, etc. We stayed during the week & arrived when it was snowing. We were in room 503 so our lakeside room was very private, which made our experience & the views even more spectacular – it was like having the place to ourselves. There are no words to describe the majestic snow topped mountains and serene mirrored lake at dawn. The room is somewhat rustic, very clean & comfortable and the fireplace was a nice touch. We appreciated the complimentary coffee & coffee maker in the room. I think we stayed in our room more than ventured out! We also enjoyed our evening stroll along the lighted & cleared pathways – the ambiance was simply romantic. For breakfast, we went later in the morning & were surprised that there was still a great selection of good quality food to choose from: we had orange juice, scrambled eggs, ham, Swiss & Cheddar cheese. The staff was accommodating and very friendly. Thank you especially to Yvonne & Noah for recommending such a great room to stay. We’ll definitely make our way back again!

Tips: For a budget friendly stay, any room at the lodge is satisfactory considering you’ll likely find yourself outside in front of the lake to take in the views. If you have special needs, make sure you bring it up so that the staff may accommodate you – my husband is a large fellow & SHOULD HAVE ASKED if there was a shower stall that he could have fit in more comfortably (he kept opening the shower door every time he turned in the stall & the shower adjustments rotated only left to right & not up and down - at least he got a nice facial). The chairs in the room were also a tight fit for him. If you mind pets or fowl at your patio door, request for rooms on the second or third floor. If you’re sensitive to smells, you may have an issue with the detergent used on the sheets, pillows & towels.

Their service was wonderful, they offered to take our bags to our room but we got to the room with our bags before the trolly was ready. The room was cute and cozy but not as big asI had hoped for. The staff gave us a free upgraded room to a partial lakeview for free since there wernt very many guest due to low snow levels in Jan. They also didnt charge us for the refridgerator we asked for or our extra guest for one night! However, a different staff made a comment to us implying that we were hiding people in our room which may have been a joke but was a little awkward. The breakfast was not what I had expected: waffles, hard boiled eggs, lunch meats and sliced cheese, drinks, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and an assortment of hard pastries. I chose the hotel partially so that I could save money on food but I ended. Up eating out for breakfast once. I asked the staff if the breakfast would change over the 3 mornings and was told they would have a new improved breakfast by Sat. But the breakfast was the same. Overall good experience.
