“Great stay, friendly atmosphere in a beautiful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We spent two nights in this hotel. The room was very good, and specially clean. The hotel has a hot tube which is ideal after a long hiking day in the cold (we've been there at the end of Autumn).
The staff is very friendly and is nearby the main locations of South Lake Tahoe. You are at walking distance from the lake, you have plenty of restaurants in the area. Also, is very affordable.

“Great, Comfortable Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

My husband and I spent three nights here on our honeymoon last week. We changed our reservations from the Marriott Timberlodge at the last minute because after researching this place it seemed much more up to date and obviously more affordable (Half the price, and right across the street from Heavenly..). After speaking on the phone with staff from both hotels, they were obvious pick. It turned out to be a great find!

Upon arrival the front desk lady was helpful and everything was clean and well kept. It smelled great in there, too. Our room (206) was spacious and the decor wasn't the over-the-top timber/cabin style, but it was done nicely and had a modern feel to it. The bed was super comfortable.

We've stayed in an eco-friendly hotel before (The Good Hotel, San Francisco) and were a little worried because that experience was not so great. 968 Park Hotel was the complete opposite. They aren't in your face about being eco friendly, which is really nice. I also loved that it's not a chain hotel. Everything about it is unique and newly done.

The location is also excellent. It's right across the street from Heavenly Village and we walked everywhere. Shopping, dining, skiing, casinos, local pubs and a grocery store are all in sight from the hotel. We will definitely come back and have recommended this place to others already.

Room Tip: We had the "Deluxe King" room and it was great for the price and the two of us.

“Great, if not scary, Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

We came here in October. Not high season for the Lake, or skiing.. Just a nice little getaway sans son. We stayed for two nights.

Upon first walk into the lobby, I wasn't sure quite where to go. I found a bar in the middle and in the back, found the front desk attendants. After a short walk in, we found our room and were immediately satisfied. The king bed and linens were super comfortable and the room was very clean.

This being an eco friendly hotel, we noticed the lighting in the hallway very, very dim. It scared me many nights. Remember the hallway in the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, how you felt like it went down forever? Well, we walked down the halls with our head down and fast.

One thing I didn't like was that you had to ask where the ice machine was. Really? No signs in the room? My husband trekked all around and finally asked the front desk to find out he had to go back upstairs and found the ice machine. It was in a weird room, where you had to have your back to the hallway. Husband DID NOT like that.

The area of the private sauna/hottub was ok. I felt like the water in the hottub was dirty. ick..
and the sauna was pretty creepy as you didn't know whether it was occupied or not.

At night, we could hear the sounds of other people enjoying their trip....

Room Tip: Opt for the 3rd floor, away from elevators. Even if you face parking lot, windows are good/quiet.

“Great Location and Excellent Customer Service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

My husband, son and I stayed here for a weekend. The tv in our room didn't work. Usually I wouldn't care, but it was Wild Card weekend! The staff was extremely helpful and offered to have us switch rooms or give us full control over the tv in the game room. We opted to switch rooms. Not only did the hotel staff help us move, they brought us a complimentary bottle of wine for the inconvenience!

This is directly across the street from Heavenly Village, and is within walking distance to shops, activities and casinos. Great rooms and very eco-friendly without being obnoxious about it (you know what I mean!).

968 Park is now our go-to hotel for Tahoe. We'll be going back soon!
