One star is for the friendly and helpful staff, one star for the location, one star for the effort they put into "being green".
This hotel is in a great location - walking distance to Heavnely Village and the casinos. Everyone who worked there was very nice and friendly, but if there is another trip to Tahoe in our future, we'll be staying somewhere else. Staying 4 nights, our room did not get serviced once. Maybe it was the Christmas holiday - I don't know, but it was pretty annoying. The 1st time, Christmas Eve, they knocked at about 10:30am, and we were not ready to leave. After returning to the room at about 4:30pm, not made up. Christmas Day, we were out early, came back for a nap at about 4:30pm, they knocked, we said please later, but already knew it was a long shot. Day after, out early, didn't come back until about 5pm, no service. Day after that was checkout.
Someone else mentioned rm 203, which was our room. I usually request a change if I find the room right next to the elevator, but this time I didn't. Mistake. The room door is directly across the hall from stairwell that goes down one flight to the lobby, and the single window faces Park Ave. Very noisy. Throw in walls thinner than rice paper, and it was just not a very relaxing place to be. Especially because they play music in the lobby and thru outdoor speakers, one of which is positioned just below the window of this room.
I'm not sure if we missed it on this or any other website, but we went with the expectation of not having access to a hot tub. Excited to find an indoor one, we got suits at one of the shops. The 1st time, the tub was super-chlorinated. 2nd time, not so much.
Bed linens were nice, bed not too comfortable, towels like sandpaper. Room was furnished along the lines of a monk's cell. Very spartan. And the lighting was totally strange, with spotlights by the window, bright light over the vanity, and two little reading lamps over each side of the bed. After the 2nd night, I was longing for a Marriot.
Maybe it was the room, maybe it was the holiday, but all in all, not a place I want to return to.
Room Tip: Avoid rooms over the lobby and facing Park Ave.
