We have had good luck with Residence Inns in the past and thought this would be the same. We were traveling with a small dog and agreed to pay their pet fee even though it is much higher than other Residence Inns and other chains. We assumed that with the high fee we would be given a decent room. I don't know if the regular rooms are any better but the dog rooms were not up to Residence Inn's usual standards. The room was a little dated but clean. However, there was a heavy scent of deodorizer and within minutes of entering the room I had a headache and sore throat. Luckily it was nice outside and there were some large windows to open so we could air out the room. Since it was on the main floor we didn't feel safe leaving them open all night. They put us in a room at the end of the hall next to the outside door. It probably seemed like a good idea since it would be convenient to take the dog outside. It turned out to be a very noisy room with lots of people parking and entering all night long. They also must have put all the dog guests in the same hall because every time someone came in the door they all barked. It would be smarter to separate the dogs so they don't hear each other and put them in quieter rooms where they won't be inclined to bark. We stayed in several other hotels on this trip and didn't find this problem any where else. The hotel was noisy in general with thin walls and ceilings. We must have been under a family of trampoline enthusiasts because there was a lot of jumping and banging on the floor. We expected to have a child fall through the ceiling at any moment. By turning on the kitchen and bathroom fans we were able to block out a lot of the noise so our dog settled down and we thought we could get some sleep. Then we tried out the bed and realized it was going to be a long night. The bed was worn out and felt about as comfortable as a sofa sleeper. After tossing and turning for several hours, we got up at 4 am and left. One great thing about this location is the walking/biking trail behind the hotel that runs for miles along the Spokane River
