Crossland is one of the Extended Stay America brands. It's meant for longer stays, though my friend and I stayed here for only a single night. The hotel is easy to get to from I-90, but isn't near any main attractions. It's less than a 20 minute drive to downtown, however.

The room itself was pretty typical of other hotels at or above this price range. Because this is a hotel designed for longer stays, it doesn't have the extra frills like room service, fully daily housekeeping, continental breakfast, a hotel shuttle, or shampoo. That's right--you'll have to remember to bring your own shampoo. If you forget, I'd suggest walking to the grocery store across the street instead of buying it at the hotel.

Check-in process was smooth. I requested a top floor room (I've suffered through many incidents of people "bowling" above me). We arrived 15 minutes after the hotel's stated check-in time of 3pm and were told that there was only one room open on the third (top) floor. The on-duty manager said he needed to double check the room for cleanliness and readiness. However between answering the phone and helping out the clerk who must have been new (she was still learning the hotel's room management software) he never made it up. The room was ready anyways.

The second and third floor are accessible by three stairwells or an elevator. The hallways to the rooms are outdoors--typical of hotels in Eastern Washington (to save on heating and cooling costs). The stairwells are enclosed (but did not appear to be climate controlled). I really appreciated that the stairwells required keycard access, making it difficult (but not impossible) for non-guests to access the upper floors.

The kitchenette was equipped with a sink, mini-fridge, microwave, and stove top. An oven or dishwasher would have been nice for longer stays. A few plates, bowls, cups, and some silverware are provided. They appeared to be clean. A packet of dish soap and a dish towel was provided.

The bathroom, while small, was adequate. It was clean with no signs of mold. Water pressure was adequate.

Wireless internet is available for a charge of $4.99 per stay. A public library a few blocks away offers free WiFi.

Noise was not an issue during our stay.

Laundry facilities are provided. It'll cost you four dollars in quarters to wash and dry. The laundry room also has Coke and snack vending machines. A few toiletries and detergent are available in the vending machine.

Overall, this is a great place to stay on the cheap. You're basically renting a studio apartment. It's a 30-45 minute bus ride to the heart of Downtown Spokane, and there's a grocery store across the street. A few restaurants are within walking distance.
