“Pleasant staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Apart from finding it difficult to find hotel as sat nave did not direct properly and you cannot see name of hotel properly from road as a wall obscures the name, I must admit on driving up the drive it is a very impressive hotel. It make a pleasant change to stay in an old worlde hotel rather than the newer modern ones. Although it appeared very posh the staff were very friendly some perhaps a bit too friendly i.e joining in our conversation as he served us (but with a bit of training this could be ironed out). The rooms were very comfortable but dark because of the energy saving bulbs (but as I had 7 light on just to enable me to read this was a false economy). The setting of the hotel is glorious and very peaceful.

“Wow !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We recently had a two night Dinner, B&B stay and it was absolutely outstanding !! From the moment we were greeted to the moment we left, nothing was too much trouble. ALL of the staff were extrememly pleasant and took great pride in their job - they were all smiling and seemed very happy to be working at such a lovely place.
We had time to sample the pool and jacuzzi before changing for a truely sumptious dinner. The food was absolutely first class and we felt so relaxed - not at all hurried despite there being quite a few people staying - with the waiters and waitresses making sure that you had everything you needed.
We will be returning very shortly so that we can share this wonderful place with our family and friends - we simply loved every minute !!

“Breathtaking!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

A sadly all too short overnight stay for a business meal.

Set in beautiful grounds this hotel is probably the most impressive I have ever stayed in. From a late afternoon check in to leaving erly the morning after the whole expierence was wonderful and I do plan a return visit so I spend more time to enjoy it.
I wsas met by a roaring fire and the very courteous and attentive staff at reception and the conceerge that showed me to my sumptous room on the upper floor (room No4)
The decor throughout the hotel was fantastic as where the grounds which I briefly managed to explore on the following morning and spotted some Deer close to the hotel.

Back to the evening, and a fantastic dinner served in the chapel and relaxing after dinner drinks in the grand drawing room, really first class cusine.

Nice breakfast served the morning after with lot of choice.

Simply stunning, I will without doubt return with my wife for a more relaxing vist very soon.

“Great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We had a one night dinner b/b and cream tea deal here in oct. Had a few problems finding it pre sat nav. But when we rang the hotel we were given great instuctuctions by the characterful porter and virtually talked us in! Beautiful building and grounds we were in the new wing but the room was large clean and had all we needed. You can wander round and look into any bits of the building and the staff are happy to let you know the history of the place. As there was a wedding on and most of the guests were part of this we had the pool and spa facilities to ourselves which were excellent. The maitre'd seemed to know every guest by name (and there were quit a few!) and made it clear that nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good with a freshly cooked to order breakfast, better than buffet sitting around all morning style. It is the attention to detail provided by the staff that go to make this a great place to stay

I booked Afternoon Tea on Wed 25th Jan 2012 for my mums 65th birthday, what a lovely experience. Greeted at the door by the reception staff unfortunatly forgot to get there names. Was shown into the gardens which were stunning , saw lots of Deer sadly didnt get to see the albino one. Myself and my mum were made to feel very special , was given a brief history about the hotel which in its self was very interesting as i live in stratford upon avon and knew where the hotel was but knew nothing about it!. We were shown into the beautiful room for our tea by the barman Jake, we were also very early and this did not matter as the table was ready . The tea its self was amazing freshly made cakes , scones which were still slighty warm with very tasty rasberry or strawberry preserve. Also the chef had written happy birthday in white chocolate icing on the plate which my mum thought was lovely and made her feel very special. Jake was very attentive kept seeing if we were ok and topping our coffee up. very friendly and helpful. couldnt fault any part of the service. Will defianlty be going again as its my in laws 50th wedding anniversary next year and it will be perfect for them. Thank you very much for a lovely experience :)
