“We were robbed while staying here!!!!”

We absolutely loved staying at the Four Seasons Chiang Mai...that is until the LAST night when we discovered my engagement ring and wedding band were stolen from our in room safe. We believe without a doubt that it was an inside job and that someone on the staff who has access to our room took my rings. We are not talking about a simple band, we are talking about two very expensive rings that cost more than our week long stay at the resort. The hotel did not offer and discounts nor compensation, in fact during this horrifying situation they actually handed us our bill. Great timing. We spent our last night at the resort having our room searched (to no avail) while my husband filed a police report at the Thai police station. We would NOT recommend this hotel because of this extremely heart wrenching event that happened to us.

“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012 via mobile

My husband and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon. We loved it so much we extended our stay! We stayed in villa 1402 and had a gorgeous room with a private sala overlooking the rice field and yoga barn. It was stunning. My husband and I travel often and stay at some of the most beautiful hotels in the US. This property is among the best for quality, food and activities. If you stay here, you must take the cooking class and go to the spa! Thank you to Charles, JJ, Chef Patik, Tu, Chuti and Paye for going over and above for us while we were there. We also had the good fortune of participating in a wine dinner sponsored by Rathbone, which provided us with a fun, social evening and allowed us to meet other guests while enjoying wonderful wines (thank you to Annie and Rathbone for being so generous!). We will definitely be back!

“Outstanding in every respect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Not sure why Advisor doesn't list this hotel under Chiang Mai, because that's where it is. It is beautiful, unique and relaxing. The service is wonderful, the setting pristine and there are very few hotels in Thailand, or Asia for that matter that can match it. Set on a rice paddy, the views from the rooms are spectacular. The staff is wonderful and the food is outstanding. Highly recommended.

An oasis of comfort and spectacular service. We were so happy with our whole experience at this resort. Friendly and competent staff made our stay so comfortable. The restaurants were superb. The most beautiful floating flower displays throughout the grounds added a wow factor to the already breathtaking serene views of the property.

“A Must Stay in Northern Thailand”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

I initially was not keen on staying in an American resort-property while in Thailand...I researched and my friends at Abercronmbie and Kent were insistent I give it a try with an open mind... Well, I could not have been more wrong!!! This Four Seasons is located in the most serene and beautiful terraced valley with working rice fields on the property. Our villa was filled with local and foreign art work. Stunning fabrics and lighting... The Concierge was beyond helpful. The cooking class IS A MUST! I learned so much. Going to market on our own at night with their provided tram service was a hoot!I Loved going in the early morning with their guide. We had a wonderful guide who was a monk take us throughout the city and the different temples. The Buddist Temple that sits on top of the hill in the city of Chiang Mai is breathtaking. We rode elephants at a speciaty park where the elephants have the same trainer since birth and most learn to paint.A Guiness Worls record as well! Outstanding visit!!! We became MAHUTs for the day! I loved the Northern Villages and the people are so friendly. Their art work. clothing and fabrics are bright colors and are beautiful.Watch out for the black beetle ? nut they suck on...Their teeth are jet black when they smile!
I highly reccomend staying minimum 5 days because there is so much to do! The covered umbrellas near your room are picturesque for sunset, water buffalo, and bird watching. Enjoy the delicious food at the hotel because you are not near town. Gravity pools and the spa are also extremely nice. The water is a little chilly! Flowers are blooming all over the grounds and just sitting with a cocktail ...you feel BLISS! Enjoy, I will be back without a doubt.

Room Tip: Choose views over the rice terraces.
