I needed a safe clean warm bed for the night at very short notice. When I asked for suggestions at a local Inn (that was full), they suggested Claveys Farm.

This is not a place that will suit all travellers. If you like a modern, antiseptic clinical bedroom with all mod cons and an ensuite, this is not for you. If you revel in the different, the eclectic, shabby chic, and you need basic accommodation, then I think you would like this place. I loved it. I stayed in the twin bedded room and I was warm and comfy. For a book worm like me this place is like a sweetie shop, as there are books everywhere.

No idea about internet connection. I suspect not. My Blackberry worked fine though. (O2).

There is no en-suite or television or tea making facilities. This wasn’t an issue for me. I was given a very warm welcome and asked if I would like some tea. I had a superb pot of Earl Grey and both hosts were charming and good company.

I will certainly put this one into my address book and would have no hesitation in staying here again.

The best way to describe Claveys Farm is that it is a Marmite place to stay. So I will happily recommend this hotel to some of my friends, but not all of them.
