We are a tour organizing company that uses Hotel La Choza often. We have never had any problem with cleanliness nor any inconveniences in using the hotel.
Our customers have always been satisifiied with the hotel and the services provided.
El Fuerte is in a tropical aerea, next to a wide river where it 's difficult not to find any insects; however they are controlled at the Hotel.
We had two rooms #20 & #21. Two of us had bites and were later confirmed as being bed bugs. Use caution.
We took the Copper Canyon trip in March of 2005 and were driving through Mexico at the time. I was concerned about leaving our vehicle while we were on the train. We found a new hotel in El Fuerte named La Choya. It is completely remodeled and has a nice restaurant, clean rooms and priced reasonably. The best part is that one can leave their vehicle in the locked courtyard while traveling thru the canyon. The only condition is that you stay with them before and after the trip. No problem as you leave early in the morning and come back rather late at night and would not want to head out at that time.
