The accomodation we booked was so disgusting that we downgraded to fewer bedrooms. Stains on the carpets, walls, beds - everywhere. Dirty cutlery, insects, spiderwebs and a rusty nail sticking up from one of the wardrobes. It can't have been cleaned in years. It was also supossed to have a bath which it didnt. We had to walk round to reception to ask to change accomodation, which they agreed to. The accomodation we downgraded to was not much better. We had to go to the local shops and buy cleaning products then spent the first day cleaning the whole place in irder to be able to stay there. Even then we still considered booking into a hotel but as we had already paid quite a lot for the 'holiday' and with no money back option we had to stay. The entertainment was good but not worth the experience of living in utter filth for a week!

Pontins are now providing private tours so customers can inspect the renovations, which are currently taking place at their holiday centres. We have just been to Camber and I must say the standard of the new accommodation was very good indeed.  In addition they are renovating the main complex, which looks stunning. Each apartment has been fully renovated with  new bathroom, kitchens,  new wooden floors, new beds, new furniture throughout, new sofa-beds and new curtains. They looked brand new. Forget the past and let Pontins new owners get the brand back to where it should be.

If you want to take your holiday in a run down dirty, smelly unclean, unhealthy unhappy place then this is for you, the real bonus of this holiday park is the squat style run down beaten up accomodation with bonus damp, broken furniture, filthy toilets, mouldy showers & if your lucky like us you’ll even get a resident slug living under your toilet rim!
The ugly, peeling, run down, DAMP blocks of accomodation is exactly what id imagine an imigration holding center might look like..

The awful Pontins Holiday camp at Camber Sands has become a very run down, unplesant environment to take a holiday, with appologetic staff and very poor quality accomodation this is not the place you want to go to hoiliday.

Pontins at Camber sands immideatly appears run down the minuite you walk into the reception area, lots of unhappy customers with a wide range of complaints, its disapointing to arrive on holiday a see so many grown men sitting on their suitcases demanding to go home immediatly…

So we were given the keys to our self contained appartmet a low quality photocopied map of the park and off we went.
Eventually finding our appartment in a dark very run down block was disapointing, It was evening and dark at this point I was annoyed to find no working electricity in our appartment, so my wife and youngest stayed in the dark with our siutcases in the flat while my teen and i went back to reception to be told we had to purchase electricicy cards for £1 each, i brought x 10 = £10 and went back to feed to meter and get some light and heat going.
The accommodation was very cold, damp, unclean and generally unplesant, if it wasnt for the fact that it was our 5 year olds first family holiday we would have left for home immediately, but with my moaning teenage son and my wife we perservered for the sake of our youngest. In the flat there are 3 electric heaters that will eat your electricity, we used £6 in one night! We complained so they gave us £10 of complimentary electric, enought for almost two nights. Do not eat from the chicken / pizza bar, its an on-site fake kentucky fried chicken bar but the food was DISGUSTING, the chicken pops did not even taste like chicken infact i thought is was more like a cheap processed minced up turkey but altogether very very horrible. The staff were generally unhappy, quite happy to argue with you, especially in the evening entertainment bar which absolutely stank of BO and rotting carpet, it was so bad they'd hired in extra air con units to reduce the odour but there weren’t enought of them, useless. The carpet in the evening entertainment room is shockingly filthy far too dirty for your kid to be playig on, everything about the evening entertainment room was very bad, it stank, everything was old, outdated and grotty.

Kids Entertainment at Pontins Camber Sands... a joke.

Captain Crock... who hasn’t got time for anyone or any children... NOT good enough!
They have a soft play area with a ball pit that is run down and unhygienic, therre is a smog of dust in the unventilated room that all comes from the split equipment, my son slid down a pole and landed on a worn, split cushion thing that released a cloud of dust every time a kid landed on it.

Overall its utter rubbish, you will not have a fun warm family holiday at camber.
Don't waste you money on this bankrupt desolate awful holiday camp.

Stayed at Pontins Camber Sands on a Sun holiday-wish I had avoided the place and got the train back home. My abiding memory of the resort will be the smell of grease and fat coming from the drains near the eating areas.
Accomodation was uncomfortable and nasty. Not even proper beds to sleep in and no shower. The highlight was being woken up at 2am on the second night by a load of guys having a massive fight.
It amazes me that Pontins are allowed to sell holidays of this horrendous standard when you compare them to Butlins, Haven and Park resorts even. AVOID!
