Stayed at this Hotel on Saturday 28th January 2012 with family. We booked a double room for us and a double room for my parents'n'law, we had our 1yr old daughter with us and had called the Hotel to advise of this and ensure there would be room for our travel cot. On arrival we checked in and were allocated rooms 3 & 7, we were charged £10 deposit per room for remote controls which we were advised would be returned on check out. As my 1yr old daughter was not covered by the double room booking we were charged £5 for her breakfast (this to me seemed a big expensive considering her age and what she would eat but we did pay this). Room prices were very reasonable though £40 for a double room B&B. After check in we proceeded to go to our rooms, room 3 was very compact with no room for a cot, it had a shower room which was very small but did fit the purpose (shower, toliet and sink) the other room we were allocated was room 7 which was much larger plenty of room for the cot and the bathroom was large too (shower over bath, toliet and sink but lots of room). We had a few drinks in the bar, very reasonable prices and then had our tea in the restaurant - we had 8 adult meals, 1 child meal, 4 drinks & 4 juice total bill came to £88 I found this very reasonable and the meals were out of this world. We went onto a party which was our reason for staying in the Hotel (in total our party had booked 7 rooms), some returned early with the children, the party finished at 1230am and we returned to the Hotel some were back at 1255am and others got back at 0103am the ones who returned at 0103 were advised the bar was now shut therefore couldn't be served any drink, the bar was full of non residents who had tables of drink sitting in front of them, which seemed a little annoying to residents. The heating was off in the rooms during the night and the rooms got very cold. Considering how busy the bar was the rooms were quiet and you never heard any noise from the bar or outside when people were leaving. The shower in our room was not the best it was cold on the Saturday evening & on Sunday morning it was going between hot & cold, not ideal when you are trying to shower with a 1yr old. Breakfast was good, our whole party went for breakfast at the same time which seemed to cause the staff a headache as they didn't expect everyone at once, we had to ask for more bread for the toaster, more hot water for tea, more coffee and as previously mentioned did feel the cost of my daughters breakfast was steep. All in the hotel was a good 3 star with just a few minor faults, these faults have not put me off though was the positives outweighed the negatives and I would return here again if I was to stay in Kilsyth.
