“Good for a short stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

person found this review helpful

We found the clerk at the reception a bit stern with us when we arrived...He made a point of telling us that rooms are usually occupied at 2:00 pm because we arrived around 11:30 am. However, we were given a room anyway and we appreciated it. It was clean, but we found the room awkward. Not having specific place designated for our luggage, we placed it on the floor near the doorway...The wooden lounge chairs were not comfortable. The bed was good. The internet connection was not reliable. The bathroom had a glass door and window. We could hear our neighbors talking surprisingly well even though they were using a normal tone of voice. The breakfast offered a nice variety and we appreciated being able to make freshly squeezed orange juice. We did not use the pool or the other facilities, but we are sure that they would be very nice during warmer weather after a day of sight seeing.

Dear Lpansieri,

thank you so much for your recent review and for your stay with us! Whilst I am glad to hear that overall you had an enjoyable stay, I am very sorry to hear of your disappointments with the room!

It would be my pleasure to personally find you a room that will afford the space that you would appreciate, should you decide to try us once more which I sincerely hope you will.

Also you definitely have to try the swimming pool and the relax area: in winter time it's heated and covered, during summer it's open so that you can lie comfortably in the garden, under tuscany sun, enjoying a wonderful view on Siena skyline!

We look forward to welcoming you back here!
Kind regards,
Nico

“Montaperti Hotel Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

This hotel is great. Loved the modern Interior design of building and furniture and fixtures and had a great meal in restaurant. There were complaint about location and it was a bit hard to find at night but if you're driving, it is great to be outside of a town where there is free parking, Internet and breakfast. We were driving back from Montalcino which made finding hotel more difficult but otherwise great one night stop in Tuscany.

Room Tip: Great of driving but get good directions.

Dear Bill666,

the whole Montaperti Crew wants to thank you for sharing your nice comment here on TripAdvisor!

I’m so very glad you appreciated the hotel, its modern design and the furnitures!

With great pleasure I will pass on to your words to our chef Giovanni, a young talented guy that works hard, with constancy and passion!

Last but not least I’m happy you liked so much the area that hosts us: Crete Senesi! We’re just few km away from Siena downtown, but at the same time, it’s very easy to get to some of the most famous villages of Tuscany!
We know sometimes it can be hard to find us, too bad the italian urban law doesn’t allow us to place as much road signs as we would, so we do our best to intervene through our official website, our facebook pages and our front office staff, pointing out not only alternative addressess for GPS system but also the best ways to get here from the north and the south of Italy!

Anyway, if you liked Montalcino, you definitely have to come back once again in the future, because there are heaps of gorgeus places to see, from San Gimignano to Montepulciano, from Chianti to Crete, and it will be a pleasure for all of us helping you with suggestions and advices!

We look forward to welcome you back here!

Kind regards,
Nico

Dear Aurelionocerino,

thank you for your comment following your stay at Montaperti Hotel!

I’m glad that you appreciated the sightseeing, but I’m very sorry to hear of your disappointments with our relax area!

I hope that your opinion is not based only on Jacuzzi, sauna and steam bath, so please do feel free to contact me personally at any time should you wish to discuss your stay with me in more detail.

Too bad we had a technical failure in the Jacuzzi, but I’m pleased to let you know that it’s going to be fixed up within February 11th : we are closing the relax area for more than a week, so to be able to take care of the damage!

Regarding the sauna and the steam bath, we didn’t receive any others complaints from our guest, so after your review I asked the maintenance department to check it out and they assure me that everything is perfectly working!
What I infer from your words “sauna cold and steam room not working”, is that they were simply turned off!
We ask for reservation ( that can be made anytime at the front office ) for their use: if we do not have any bookings, we use to turn them off, so not to waste electricity and water ( we are trying to give an helping hand in saving the planet ).

I’m so sorry you thought they were not working: I know you would have enjoyed them!

I would really like you to reconsider your decision not to stay with us again: we will be glad to welcome you back here once again, to show you our potentiality, letting you enjoy the position, the services and all the Montaperti's facilities!

Kind regards,
Nico

“Enjoyable stay in Chianti”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

We really enjoyed our stay at Montaperti. The hotel is located between Siena and Chianti wine areas - The staff of Montaperti were really helpful and friendly, They were also fluent in English and came up with good recommendations about places we could visit in the vicinity of the hotel. One could try taking a drive via Le Crete to the quiet country-side town of Asciano, for example, as the road 438 from Siena via Arbia to Asciano has quite unique and enjoyable vistas.

Our room (Superior Room) was pleasingly comfortable. We got nice quiet nights sleep and the room was really warm even if it was November-December. The bed was excellent for two (wide, king size and soft but firm enough). At least Wi-Fi (worked in the lobby), free parking, swimming in the hotel's pool, sauna and a good breakfast was included in the price.

However as a Finn, I have to admit that in sauna they need a bucket of water to throw at the stove :)

Room Tip: Really nice, central but quiet location in Chianti (at least with a car).

Dear Breezewind,

the whole Montaperti Crew wants to thank you for sharing your comment here on TripAdvisor!

Your review is for all of us a reason of great satisfaction, infact we did posted it on our facebook page: we will be glad if you would check it out and “like it”!

I am delighted to acknowledge that our features met your expectations; you’ve been staying here for many days and we did our best to make your vacation in Italy as nice as it was supposed to be! You come from Finland, a gorgeous land, and we really wanted you and your lady to appreciate a nation that is definitely different, but still wonderful for its colors, its landscapes, its culture and last but not least its ancient tradition in food and wine!

Your suggestion about a bucket of water in the sauna is a very good idea, so thanks about that!

Thank you also for the compliments about the room, the bed, the free parking, the relax area, the breakfast and the staff: it will be a pleasure to me to pass on to them your nice words!

I am personally looking forward to welcoming you back here at Montaperti Hotel in your next trip to Italy!

Kind regards.

Nico

“Great hotel, great time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011 via mobile

I had never traveled to a non-English speaking country until my recent trip to Italy. Your hotel made me feel comfortable, and your staff made me feel at home. I enjoyed the trendy ambiance, and the beautiful views of Siena. The service for our evening dinner was memorable, thanks to the funny and polite wait staff

Dear Shibleen,

thanks indeed for taking the time to leave your glowing feedback on Montaperti Hotel! I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay here with us and you liked the central position inside the wonderful Crete Area! Our modern design style is actually pretty unusual in our region but it certainly creates a welcoming, trendy ambience, as you said!

I will be glad to pass on your kind words to our front desk and restaurant crew, as well as to the rest of the team at the hotel: we make our best to grant all our guests a pleasant stay, because it's nice to feel "at home" even when you're far far away!

I hope that you will choose the Montaperti Hotel again on your next stay in Italy and I look forward to welcoming yoy back here!

Kind regards.
