“Not worth the price”

I stayed here after New Years Eve, which is considered peak season. I was paying about $1,200 a night and was not impressed with the hotel, even at times disgusted (particularly with the service). The pool is probably the main highlight of the resort, and the casino was nice. The rooms were below subpar. The bath tub was impossible to get into, locks were broken off the doors and the furniture was out-dated with significant wear and tear. The service was the main low point. At the restaurants, we had to tell the staff repeatedly to refill our glasses with water, the service was slow, some people in our group would get their food way before others. The service is the worst you will probably even experience at a hotel, i have never seen anything this bad. I would def not stay here again, i think that if ur going to want to stay in punta, stay with some friends are rent a chic apt on the beach.

“Great hotel in La Barra. Nice rooms and amenities, private beach.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2010

Stayed with my daughter for a weekend at this excellent resort. Rooms are very nice and modern. The pools, stores and gardens are veeery nice and well mantained. The hotel has a private beach with chairs, umbrellas, a restaurant and complimentary shuttle to/from the hotel. We had dinner at Indigo and Zafferano and the food was gat at both. I certainly recommend this resort to everyone.

“Booking Problem”

I've booked my stay by phone, orally confirmed, and ran to book my family flights. I received an email later warning that reservation wasn't possible, due to a reservation's desk mistake.
They argued that a confirmation email was never sent to me and they did not give a damn about their phone confirmation, even after I told them I had purchased the plane tkts. No sorrys from them, they did not care.
Thankfully I managed, after big struggle, to book a hotel for that period.
Mistakes happen, it's aceptable...not giving a s... to possible guests was unacceptable.

“very nice hotel with great restaurants and spa, gym and pool area”

I liked Punta del Este very much. The staff was helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean. Both hotel restaurants are worth trying (and usually I don't like hotel restaurants). The pizza I ate at the other restaurant is one of the best I've ever eaten and the small extras are great that they serve in the second (more fancy) restaurant by the pool.

The hotel is situated a bit outside the Punta center, but you may take a cab or drive your own car, it is very close, a 10-15 min drive. Even though the hotel is not situated by the sea, it doesn't matter. The pool area is great and the gym and spa are worth visiting. The hotel also has its own cinema and casino. Every room has a balcony.

The hotel is a bit pricy yes, but so worth visiting and staying at!! Especially if you are traveling as a couple and want the "little extra". This is a hotel I want to come back to :)

“great hotel”

This is a beatiful hotel and the service and staff were excellent; what you would expect from a Leading Hotel of the World member. Being a Leaders Club member, we were upraded to a suite and the rooms are great with excellent amenities, fixtures and lighting. The pool and spa are excellent. This is probably the most expensive resort in Punta, but worth it. Only negative is the location, about a 10 minute drive to "downtown" Punta where there are lots of dining and shopping choices.
