I thought I'd treat my granddaughter to a weekend at Pontins.We set off in great mood, only to be dissappointed on arrival. It looked so old and shabby. The carpet on the floor in our budget accom .was filthy,furniture was shabby and smelly.We decided to try to make the best of it, but came home early really dissappointed with our lot.I will never ever go there again and also will avoid other Pontins sites incase they are the same.Two very unhappy campers!!

please if you read this review take notice... DO NOT GO TO PONTINS HEMSBY BEACH!! we booked through the sun newspaper and wish we haden't. it was without doubt the most disgusting place i have ever stayed... the sheets had labels on saying " raf wittering" the pull out bed was ripped, torn and badly stained, the bath was prehistoric and a £100 upgrade meant getting a toaster and microwave!!! you could not book in until 4pm so your first day is wasted, all of the furniture was broken and all in all it was like a bad carry on film.we have been to hemsby on long weekends for many years because although we go abroad a lot we still like our child to have a traditional british holiday, and we have stayed in many traditional chalet parks but nothing like this, it is not fit for human beings, i have a springer spaniel and would be reluctant to let her stay there.

My wife & I wanted a cheap break for us and our 2 yr old boy for a few days having already been to Centerparcs and Eurodisney this year. We booked budget accomodation through the Sun Newspaper offer. Big mistake. I cannot emphasise enough how shoddy the accomodation is. Please avoid. Having witnessed the disgusting state of our room we did not bother unpacking and asked to see the "Classic" chalets. The one we saw was not much of an improvement on the budget room, and since there was no "Club" class rooms available, we decided not to stay and made a swift return home, having demanded a full refund on the cost of our stay. Pontins have agreed to give us the refund. Even if money is tight please do yourself a favour and avoid Pontins at Hemsby like the plague. The whole site desperately needs a revamp as it is very shoddy and tired looking. The budget chalets are not fit for human occupation. Ours stank of damp, nicotine, the carpet was filthy and not hoovered, the kitchen had not been cleaned and the beds did not look very comfortable. Stay away!

I travelled with my disabled friend, we were not told the check in time and arrived much too early,as check in at 4pm.
Long queues at check in, no low desk so although my friend was on documents she could not check in herself.
We got into apartment and I took my shoes off, a big mistake I had to put shower on to wash them before I could put my shoes back on.Also sugar all over table and cobwebs in corners.
There were no cutlery in the drawer and batteries were missing from T.V remote control.
I rang security and they immediatly responded with cutlery and batteries and sent someone to wash floor.
We went to Bingo and on return found puddles of water on the floor, again I rang and asked for the floor to be dried.
They brought old towels immediatly.
The beds had plastic covers on the mattress (not every disabled person is incontinent!! or their carer for that matter.
The wet room was not well equiped with a shower head which was fixed and conrtols which were very stiff and turned its self off
when it wanted to, I could not turn it off untill it did it its self, thus wasting water.
The shower chair would not fold away, so I had to tie it up to shower.
The noise during the night kept us awake this was music and people who were drunk shouting and screaming till after3am
so many people complained that peoplewho were noisey were asked to leave, but this was too late for us. only one good nights sleep all week.
Parking was awful with able bodied parking in blue badge spaces and roads blocked by carelessly parked cars.
Staff did not appear to move cars who blocked roads etc.
In the entertanment venues the ramps were blocked and people reluctant to move, children used them to play on - very dangerous in an emergency.
In all a very stressfull holiday.
