I booked family break at this hotel from their website , looked fantastic , rooms looked great and location was what I wanted, I arrived to what I can describe as a 1970s dump, walked out

This was the venue of the recently concluded Tri-United triathlon race held July 17 so it was the convenient choice to stay in.
The event itself was fun and well organized but I will think twice before joining it again next year because the experience with our accommodation at this hotel was horrible.
The accommodation basically is too old and worn out. It looks like it never got renovated since it was built, probably in the 70's. So the smell of the room is quite musty already.
The prices for accommodations and the food at their restaurant are quite steep but nothing is worth the value.
We had the 2-bedroom but decided to occupy one because its eerie. There was no airconditioning in the living room where one TV was located. There was a kitchen but you could see pest infestation on the sink. Even though the water was strong at the bathroom, the shower was weak which is probably clogged. The towels were old and so are the containers of shampoo which we didn't bother to use.
In their restaurant, the servers are not properly trained. Since there was a big event that day, one of the servers informed that we can only order pasta and sandwiches probably because the kitchen was busy preparing for the event's buffet. But after our order of crap burger arrives, you see other tables getting other items on the menu aside from sandwiches and pasta. Next, during bill out, another server tells us that we can't charge the food to our room and we have to pay in cash. Then after paying they give you the order slip as your receipt. We asked for an official receipt and after waiting for more than 20 minutes, you find out that the server has lost the order slips. We had to talk to their manager already. It took a while but they just had the receipt sent to our room. The manager also informed us that we could charge our food bill to our room. Talking about standardization, everyone has their own policy.
So what's a worse rating than a terrible rating? I will now coin it as MBRH (Matabungkay Beach and Resort Hotel) rating!

Due to restraint time,we relied on the Internet to be able to find a nice and COMFORTABLE hotel to spend our holy week. I was able to go to MATABUNGKAY BEACH RESORT AND HOTEL'S WEBSITE.. The room looks nice in their site so you'll feel confident to stay here though you haven't seen the room personally. So with this impression in mind,we payed them IN FULL immediately thru depositing a check in their account before 4pm as this was their requirements. We felt relieved knowing that we already had a place to relax and enjoy this holy week.. Then the day of our stay came,it was actually today,April 22,2011,Good Friday 2011..EVERYONE,PLEASE DON'T BE FOOLED BY THEIR SALES REPRESENTATIVES MOST ESPECIALLY BY THEIR WEBSITE..YOU WILL JUST WASTE YOUR TIME,EFFORTS,GASOLINE..

First time I saw the building where our room is located,I already felt a bit disappointment and here are the reasons why: (by the way our room was deluxe room #221)

1. The building is already old
2. The stairs are dirty
3. The doors are already color DIRTY YELLOWISH WHITE
4. The doors are old and the wood is starting to tarnish
5. THE FLOOR IS SOOOOO DA*N DIRTY
6. THE BEDS ARE SO OLD (honestly,the first time I saw the room I didn't even attempt to sit at any of the bed, sooo not tolerable for me)
7. THE ROOM STINKS!!! IT SMELLS FISHY (malansa)
8. THE WORST EVER WERE THE 2 EXTRA BEDS!!!EEEEEWWW TO THE MAX!
THEY WERE SO RUSTY,THE PAINT OF THE METALS ARE TARNISHING,MY BROTHER EVEN SAID THAT THE EXTRA BEDS LOOKS LIKE "HIGAAN NG MGA PATAY SA MORGUE" IT LOOKS LIKE AS IF THERE WERE INSECTS AWAITING TO FEAST ON YOUR SKIN...

As soon as we saw that,we all decided to just go home,refund our payment and not to pursue our overnight stay. They told us it would take 2-3weeks to process the check and refund our money. We just agree because the room was really WORST AND NOT TOLERABLE AT ALL. So do yourself a favor and never ever consider staying at this stinky hotel..

Our stay at this resort was great and really worth it. All the staff in the hotel are very accommodating, friendly, courteous and respectful. They welcome and attend to their guests warmly. This is so far the best place to stay if you want to get away from the stress in the city. If you want to be in a relaxing mood then this is the place to be. Room rates are fair and the food in the restaurant are priced fairly. PLUS the beauty and wellness promo is the BEST you can get =)
