“very relaxing place”

It was a long weekend and i was thingking of a great place to spend my vacation with my boyfriend. Then I decided to surprise my bf by bringing him in one of the top resort in laiya Batangas.

After a very long travel from manila to San Juan Batangas, we finally reach the La Luz Resort. Their staff are very courteous and entertaining. The resort offered us the conference room located at the upper rocky part of the resort overlooking the sea.
I was amazed of the conference room, It is simple but beautiful and romantic. The room is sorrounded with glass wall with white curtain, according to the staff who tour us there, the room is specially offered to honeymooners, yeah its a great place for a couple because of the romatic theme.

Aside from the room, the sea water is also amazing, you can see the corals and fishes under the water even without the snorkle because the water is very clear.

Their foods are also good and satisfied our taste.

The resort is great place for your vacation. maybe its expensive "Pero Sulit naman".. you will not regret it! Promise

Me and my boyfried was looking for a great place to stay in batangas for a summer get away. I saw La Luz in the net and i immediately became attracted to their site and told him to book for a reservation, but my boyfriend cannot be easily decieved, when his frat went to batangas that month he went to the place and checked it out... he was so amazed that the place looks the same as the the picture in the site. So he immediately tried to book for a room for two, he even called their manila office for us to be booked, but as the internet site says, they only have limited rooms coz its just a rest house that became a family business. Luckyly, one of their guest gave up their room so we are accomodated. The resort was quite far from the other resorts in san juan but the travel was worth it. It was like an exclusive resort made for limited guest, the room that we stayed in is clean as well as the surroundings of the resort. Oh! by the way! they dont allow guest to bring any food because they are serving breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner (the food was so great! eat all you can!) to make the resort clean.
Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed staying in this resort.

  • Liked — The resort, the food, the room
  • Disliked — rooms have no TV, but its ok, if you really want to spend a quality time with your love one try La Luz.

“Wonderful Place, a trip to remember”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2008

Stayed there overnight just yesterday, with my wife as we celebrated our aniversary. It was 3 hours from manila, and their map got us there without hassle. The place was wonderful, just like it was out of a fairy tale (pics included). If you're too sosyal, this place might not be the best for you, but if you're looking for a wonderful stay,, that is not going to kill you getting there, and won't burn a hole in your pocket, this is the place for you.

Pros: 3 hours from manila - I timed it, 130kms from eastwood.
the beach is wonderful. Don't expect white, powdery sand, but if you're reading this, then you wont be going there to build sand castles either. Don't be fooled though, there were several kids there during our trip, and they did not complain. We will be back next month, we will brign the kids, next time. Even my 8month old baby, i'm sure he won't mind.
The SNORKELING is wonderful, you don't have to go far to find fish, and they are friendly! My wife doesn't know how to swim, but she had the best time. With googles, a snorkle and a life vest, we spent the day in the water, just being part of the ocean.
The staff were friendly, helpful and great to be with.
The food was not hotel Intercontinental standards, but for the price of 950 for lunch, merienda, dinner and breakfast, buffet, with 3 different choices, it was not bad. The food really wasn't wow, but after a long day of snorkeling and kayaking, it was excellent. We diffinetely did not complain. Thanks Chef!

Cons: the rooms weren't excellent, we stayed at the jr premier, and it was quite old. But we didn't spend much time in there either. It was above average though, and was not bad at all. Clean, comfy and affordable. Quite worth the cost.

the road, was still quite rough in places, but my car made it without any problems.

the snorkeling gear was quite old, so if you can bring your own. you won't regret it.

Make sure you go Snorkeling. It really makes up for the whole trip.

Day trip or over night! It was a wonderful stay!

“La Luz the perfect place for bonding and relaxation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2008

my boyfriend and I along with three of my best buds visited La Luz beach resort last May 19 2008. I was the one who made plans and reservations for La Luz. I found out through the internet that most people who visited La Luz were very satisfied customers. so we decided to try it for ourselves.

The direction given by the website is very exact and easy to follow. The resort is easy to fine except ofcourse for the 4 km dirt road which drove us mad. But aside from that the travel was perfect. no trouble at all.

Upon arrival we set on about 30 steps descent from a hill to the resort proper. There you we were accomodated by very hospitable staff offering welcome drinks for everyone.

The room we reserved is priced P1800 which is good for six. it was a fan room but you can use the aircon for another thousand pesos. but since the whether then was humid and quite windy we decided not to use the aircon. the room is clean providing a gret view of the sea.

The beach is perfect. it is clear and the marine life is flourishing. although the sand is not fine, it is white and clean. the heat is very much bearable.

the food offered for 950 pesos per person is should i say "sulit." the resort served an ample amount for everyone to be satisfied. the taste was excelent perfect for everyone because they serve a variety of dishes per meal.

amongst everything, what i love about La Luz is that you can do other acivities in the beach for a very cheap price. Kayak or tri-yak isP250 per hour, snorkling gear is for P100 for 3 hours, volleybal is about 50 pesos so you can enjoy yourselves without the hassle for a very small price.

the resort all in all gives a calming atmosphere for barkadas and families to enjoy. i infact tried their boy massage by the beach at P250 per hour. it was so good I did not want to go home anymore.

well...

i hope i helped you with this review...
i really recommend La Luz for travellers who have a limited budget and wants no hassle of cooking or bringing gadgets with them.

this resort can provide you with the best vacation without the hassle....

gudluck!!!

“Please improve the taste of your food!”

The view of the accomodations and landscaping do not look impressive but the view of the sea from the cabanas is very beautiful with its very clear water that is bluish greenish in color. Our favorite hiding place is the rocky side found on the right side if you are facing the sea. But too bad, we spotted few jellyfish while snorkling. And unlike in the front side, the water on that side turned dark as we stepped in. There must be plenty of moss in there so they must clean that side of the beach because it is the best part. The food is not so good. They look good but bland. No savory taste at all. It's not worth the price we paid. They should rather allow their guest to bring food if they cannot serve good-tasting food at all.
