“Resort is built for wholesome family fun. Kids will enjoy this place.”
We booked a two bedroom (Cottage 2C) at Sabangan for our family of six (husby and I, a nanny and our three daughters ages 10 to 3. Take note ALL bookings are done online, and you are required to pay in full. Any refunds must be done fourteen days (14) before check in.
We took the Ibaan route from Manila as published on the site - this route seemed simpler.
Upon arrival at Sabangan, we were checked into Cottage 2C. I immediately asked to be moved, since this cottage had a some non-negotiable hygiene issues. Whatever you do folks, please do not book Cottage 2C. This is probably their oldest and shabbiest cottage in the resort, and I think it is about time that the resort closes this cottage down to renovate it.
The resort management did a good job in moving us to a newer, cleaner Loft A. from hereon the family trip began smoothly. The kids enjoyed the pool - my three year old learned to swim in the kiddie pool. On the third day though the pool was very dirty, so we opted to swim in Aquatico and avail of their day trip rate (2650PhP per head).
As for the inclusive buffet breakfast and dinner - it is a nice modest spread of home cooked provincial fare, satisfying to the appetite. Breakfast normally has scrambled egg with ham bits, longganiza, tapa, fried garlic rice, mini vienna sausages (my husband thought this was brillant), deep fried daing na bangus. Dinner buffet had calderetang baka, chicken barbecue, nilagang baka, white rice, fried tilapia, and whole lot more. The menu changes daily, so at least you are not bored with the same food everyday. It is best to opt dining when the rest of the resort guests have left the dining area - you see the tables are positioned too close to each other and tend to be cramped.
Lunch is not included though. It is a better idea to lunch nearby Aquatico Resort. The buffet lunch over there costs 580PhP.
You may also choose to cook at te patio of your cottage because all cottages have basic cooking stations, pots, pans, spoons forks plates. A lot of guests like to do this.
One of the most brillant things the resort cottage has to offer is the unlimited mineral water supply at the patio. This saves you from buying too many bottles of water.
My husband went fishing at sea for two mornings. He hired a banka with a bankero (wooden boat with a boatman for PhP2000 a day.) He had his own bankero contact from years ago, and he also brought his complete fishing gear. He enjoyed immensely as there was a lot of fish to catch, mostly mahi-mahi. We grilled this fresh fish for dinner.
You may also arrange for a massage therapist for only PhP300 (USD6) an hour - this is done via the front office. My husband and I availed of shiatsu massage. Our therapist serviced us in the loft at the same hour-and-a-half. My therapist Susan was very good. And my husband said he had the best massage of all time as well.
Room Tip: Cottage 1C or 1D is ok. Loft A is fine
