“A day that will be remembered in your life....”

My school mates decided to go for a trip after 15years. We were looking for a descent place in coorg until we found Bethel HomeStay.
I have been to many Homestays.. but this was thee.. best among them.

Accomodation :-)
Lovely Bamboo cottages with attached bathrooms, in the midst of the Jungle.

Food :-) Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, Dinner
This place is must for all the food lovers. Everything that was served was Delicious. Did not imagine that we will be treated with so many varieties(both Veg... and nonVeg...).
We doubled our appetite and ate like never before.

Host :-)
A person who is down to earth is a pleasure to find and Rakesh(host) is a perfect fit to this category. Ofcourse, he is very friendly and the time we spent with him is simply unforgettable. No Wonder, he is an hospitality Guru
and was around us all the time.

Activities :-)
We trekked only for an hour as most of them were amateurs and then took an open bath in the river close by... Post lunch, we visited Irpu falls. River rafting was closed as the river didnot have enough water(post monsoon season).

Well, it is really worth visiting this place.

“Right next to the amazing Coorg mountains - one with nature”

We stayed in Bethel Home stay with few of my colleagues and I must say that it was an amazing experience. If you are looking for a 5 star, luxury filled stay, do not come to Bethel. If you would like to experience nature at its best, believe in eco friendly tourism and have some excellent food (you would wonder if your mom was in the kitchen), this is the place to be. Make sure you see some photographs before you decide to travel. I have uploaded a few here.

Our guide at the resort (or must I say a jungle lodge) was Rakesh who also happens to be the owner. A very friendly guy who seeemed to be everywhere, from the trekking into the mountain, to our swim at a nearby stream where you can experience a free fish spa.
We missed the white water rafting due to shortage of time. We could hear elephants and animals in the night, but somehow were not really worried, such was the tranquilizing effect of the place.

The rooms (tents) are quite comfortable with hot water available in the bathroom.

Overall, an excellent place if you are looking for an economical, eco friendly trip.

“Bethel Home stay is a Home in the Jungle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2010

We started on finding a place to stay in coorg and landed in finding Bethel homestay ,
I Contacted rakesh and spoke to him on the itenary . This is a wonderful place for all ppl to hangout and enjoy ur day to the fullest . The lush green forest surrounding the estate is a eye catcher . Don worry about the food and snack provided organised by rakesh cos the food is like home made food and the snacks (i had my doubts on this and asked rakesh everytime i about the snacks as we guys were to booze ) to our surprise the snacks jus kept on coming till there is no place in ur stomach to fill for dinner . Also the river rafting was a thrilling experience its costly but worth it . Please don say no for rafting . I would recommend this place any time .

“A paradise in Coorg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2010

We went in a group of 8 people. It was a 2 day stay at Bethel home Stay. I must say that the stay and sight seeing was one of the best experience we ever had. Rakesh, the owner and coordinator of Bethel home stay was very polite and helpful. We arrived at Kutta (a small market in coorg) and Rakesh's team was there waiting for us there at bus stand.
We were escorted in a Mahindra Commander jeep (Only SUVs can run on the hilly tarein of the tea/ coffe estate). The stay was at hill top and we could feel like we were the only one in that jungle. The sight was very beautiful from our bamboo cottages. To enhance the experience, the place did not had electricity, but it looked great with lanterns and emergency light.
Rakesh was always around to help us and fulfill any demands from food to hot water. We also had camp fire at night. Rakesh took us to white water rafting, Irpu fall, tea/ coffee estate, river and treking on mountain. With the numerous delicious food offered to us I am sure we have added 2-3 kgs of weight. Food and snacks provided were hot and delicious, specially the ones serves with evening drinks.
It was my wife's birthday and the bakery shopes were closed due to Id festival, but we all were surprised to see Rakesh getting a home made cake of rawa for celebration. I think it shall be a memorable birth day for her.
Rakesh knows that place very well and had a background story for every place and people nearby. We enjoyed the place to such an extend that one of our friend is planning to buy a farm house in Coorg...:-)
Overall I would strongly recommend Bethel home stay for its hospitality and care....:-)

“A rendezvous with the beauty and adventure of Coorg”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2010

Bethel Homestay is a nature lovers paradise. It is locked away into a plush niche in the coorg hills. We got to stay in a bamboo hut which had basic amenities and blended well into the surroundings. Rooms are cozy and have comfortable beds. Apart from the rooms one can relax on top of the traditional machan or the more adventurous can try their hand at the fun tree swings.

All transport to near attractions and white water rafting (which meets international standards) is taken care of by the very hospitable and amiable host Mr. Rakesh. Thanks to him our stay was well planned out and made good use of time. He is always jolly and great company. He accompanies you to most of the places and is well informed about them. He provides a wide range of food and snacks (both local and continental) throughout the day which is always fresh, hot and tasty. Staff are very polite and obliging.
One must not miss out on the white water rafting which is an experience of a lifetime. It is very safe, led by well trained guides and worth every buck.

It is also a good place for moderate trekking and exploring nature's bounty. Its location allows one to easily visit Irpu Falls from here. We would recommend it to anyone (family, friends, teenagers) who wants to spend a peaceful days with nature and at the same time have their share of breathtaking fun.
