This was our fourth visit to this hotel, we were given room 118 and owing to the noise from the service ducts it was more or less impossible to sleep as as soon as we laid down the noise vibrated through the pillows sounding like a continuous drone of a fan/engine. We contacted the night porter at 1.30am who came up to our floor and turned off some switches in one of the service ducts but this had no effect on the continuous droning noise. We also brought this to the attention of the receptioninst in the morning but her only comment was that we should request a different room on our next stay. The cooked breakfast was very over-cooked and lukewarm. The standards in the hotel seems to have dropped considerably since our last stay in September 2011.
Room Tip: Make sure your room is siruated to the left of the main staircase as the service ducts appear to be...

Dear Colin,
I am sorry to hear about the noise that distrupted your stay at Ponsbourne Park, we have looked into our procedures and timings of our kitchen duct system to prevent other guests being disturbed by it's operation.
My team work very hard to ensure that all of our guests enjoy their stays with us, I do feel that on this occasion they could have done more and been more understanding to your situation.
I have contacted you privately to gain further understanding of your stay.
Regards Paul.
