Not sure what all the fuss is about here... Maybe since I did not originate in Texas and have been to much nicer resorts, explains why I was not bowled over by this one. All the Austinites; Love, Love, Love it here. It was clean, nicely appointed, new-looking and big! Everything is bigger in Texas... Fee for turning on the phone in your room, service for T-Mobile was spotty inside our room. I read online that in-room phone was free, not true. I heard local calls were free, also not true, they have zones. Free internet, not wireless, there is a hook-up for your computer at the desk in the room. My husband thought his phone died since he tried to charge his blackberry on 2 public meeting room outlets to no avail; obviously no electricity running to them. It works now... So, we were inconvenienced all weekend without business phone. They do call to see if everything is OK, called us twice in fact. I guess the phone worked?
Parking is far! The Valet and Golf ONLY lot seemed much closer. Lots of stuff for families, although I heard some kids whining about how tired their little legs were. Rooms are nice and big. You get about 14 free channels including HBO. Free bikes to borrow, limited areas to ride them, a lot of rules regarding where you can go on them although the golf course/cart path isn't off limits. I totally enjoyed it.
Food mediocre. Just "Meh." But to be honest I read that bit online, skipped breakfast 1 day and had lunch locally. Little Thailand, authentic, made-to-order, hole-in-the wall, Concierge gave us good directions too. The rest of our meals were part of a catered event and well, enough said. Ordered coffee service 1 morning and they insisted on bringing it inside and having me sign. Not necessary. It's just a coffee carafe, too early for visitors... And they woke me up~ Like other reviews, I think the teenage staff IS very tip oriented. Firewheel Cafe was very pretty inside. I had the Migas and they were just not the Migas, we in Austin know them to be... Migas are a big deal in Austin. I liked the holders for them (they have their own stand). The Breakfast Buffet cost $20 without beverages. Not worth it at all.
Too cold to use nice-looking pool, the lazy river etc. and whole outdoor area looked fun. 2 outdoor hot tubs and 1 adult-only smaller pool. Pretty setting along Colorado. All in all, if it wasn't being paid for by company we would likely stay elsewhere.
Room Tip: Ask for a room closer to lobby. With all activities you'll do enough walking.

On behalf of Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa, we would like to thank you for sharing with us about your experience. We are glad you found our grounds nicely appointed, new-looking and big. However we are sorry for the inconvenience your husband had with his cell phone. We do offer free local calls (local being in Bastrop not Austin). We apologize for your inconvenience. Nevertheless, we're grateful for you to take the time to share with us about you and your husband's business trip. We hope to see you again.
