We had booked to see Take That at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and were looking for a place to stay. We came across Great Barn on the internet and thought it looked lovely. The directions we were given were spot on. We arrived sooner thean we had planned and thought it might be too early to go to our room but was told that it would be fine. The room was lovely and the views over the well maintained garden and beyond were amazing. We had asked about transport into Cardiff and was told there was a bus stop a few minutes walk away. The taxi fare back was reasonable too. We had a good night's sleep and the following morning had a wholesome homecooked breakfast which was delicious.

We would certainly stay there again.

The Great Barn is set in an incredibly peaceful and beautiful garden. Arriving at the front door, I was shown to my room which had a balcony with views across the gardens and green fields, all the way to the Bristol Channel. The room was immaculately clean as was the en suite bathroom. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. Sadly, I only had the opportunity to stay one night but what a marvellous experience! I watched the sunset from my balcony and although I suffer with insomnia, slept virtually all night, due I think to the peace and quiet, the extremely comfortable bed and the long hot bath I had! This is a place not to be missed if you like tranquility. I hope I get the opportunity to stay again.

Tucked away in rolling countryside, this is a delightful, relaxed place to stay. The guest house is immaculate and my (twin) room was very comfortable and restfully decorated with an ensuite with shower. The grounds and surrounding views are lovely and you are a short distance from the main A48 with a couple of inns within reasonable walking distance and a short drive takes you to Cowbridge in one direction and a 24hr Tesco/petrol in the other.
I was welcomed, shown a room and left to my own devices although if I needed anything it was easy to get it. Breakfast in the little dining room was very lovely, and I enjoyed sitting outside in the well maintained grounds. The shower was small but absolutely fine, and they have wifi and a computer for guest's use.
I would definitely recommend this for a quiet stay for anyone wanting to get away from it all or as a base to explore the area.

Sunny and welcoming sitting area with free computer and internet. Spacious rooms with peaceful outlook. Friendly and knowledgeable owner. Good breakfast. Nice atmosphere.
