Clean, nice arrangements of rooms. The onsite restaurant is good and looks great in the evening for drinks overlooking the sea. Unfortunately the beach isn't very wide along the north coast of Bali, and with black sand can get very hot. So we moved on to somewhere with a pool. Gede the owner has been running here for 19 years, and for a man who has been speaking to and dealing with tourists for this long is clever with his use (or non use) of English!

Good and friendly and nice to have a face to see and talk too. Also good place to get a taste of village Bali life, but it is a good half hour walk from Kalibukbuk where there is a greater choice of restaurants, shops etc. Ask about going out fishing in the evening to catch your dinner and try the Warung next door to the right along the beach.

We stayed for 4 nights at Mr Gede's doring our 2 weeks in Bali. The bungalows are spacious, clean and close to the beach. Mr Gede's family was great. Very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

as a family with 2 teenagers and having been in Bali many times, we were looking forward to go to north Bali again. i arranged with Ketut, Gede´s son to pick us up from the airport , we were arriving late in the evening , so I hoped all would go well. It did. Ketut drove us in the middle of the night all the way to Anturan, and made some tea for us when we arrived at the homestay.

we got large and airy rooms , one for the kids and one for us (including airco which we didnt use that much as the sea breeze was enough)
the rooms are clean, the bathroom is attached, and large as well, but could be a bit more open, as it gets very humid after a shower and there are no windows or open air possibilities.

Gedes homestay is right on the beach, having your breakfast on the beach.
the kids loved the pancakes!
nice people , good food, and quietness.
we really enjoyed our stay there and can recommend it !
The familiar atmosphere of the homestay and the good food made us feel at home.

I did notice that Ketut arranged to clean the beach in front of the homestay, and I hope that others would join in that idea.

Unfortunately the beach in Lovina is not that clean. I know the problem comes from the rivers with all the dirt from the mountains coming down on the beach.
I truly hope that there could be done something about it. Filters, cleaning patrol, or other. To swim in clear waters is possible further out, where the reefs are and were the boats have to take you.
Wouldnt it be great to be able to swim in water without plastic bottles and bags ?

otherwise nothing but good about Gede´s Homestay.
we certainly will go there again.

My partner had stayed at Gede homestay previously and so we phoned ahead to ask if there was accommodation for the following day. We were assured there was plenty and confirmed that we would definitely be there and booked a car from Ubud. When we arrived at Gede Homestay shortly after lunch we were told there was no accommodation! Thanks Mr Gede, we landed up at SRI homestay two doors away - and it is much, much nicer - bungalows right on the beach and friendly staff. We will always go back to SRI homestay, but never again to Gede homestay!
