We had a 2 night stay at this lodge and would definitely recommend it.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a car and used a hotel guide called Evans for Game drives in the morning and afternoon. He was very knowledgeable and was great at spotting the wildlife and knowing where to look. Excellent value for 10 Euros a drive.
The food was good considering it was mass catered. There were a lot of groups but most of the time there was hardly anyone around.
Our room(62) looked out onto the plains and we could see elephants, zebras, wildebeest and gazelles from our room.
As others have mentioned you need to watch out for the monkeys when you're eating anything outside or, in my case, having a sundowner. A monkey saw the orange decorating my cocktail and grabbed it. There are Masai staff employed to keep the monkeys away but sometimes the monkeys are too quick:-) My drink was quickly replaced with a fresh one without me having to ask.
In the evenings the rooms are sprayed with insect repellent and a mosquito net is drawn over the bed. There were hardly any mosquitoes around, luckily!
The toiletries were excellent. The only things missing were cotton ear buds (it's a very dusty park) and cotton wool.
One thing I read in a guide book ,which made me smile,
was a tip for ladies to wear a good bra. I agree- many of
the roads are very bumpy.
