We made an overnight stop here on our way to our holiday in Cornwall. We arrived late in the evening with two tired young children - staff were extremely welcoming, attentive and keen to make us comfortable. We enjoyed a promptly served delicious evening meal which was very good value. The room was lovely and spacious with comfortable beds and we all thoroughly enjoyed a leisurely breakfast in the morning. All in all a great way to start off our family holiday! I think some of the older reviews on this site refer to when the Inn was run by somebody else.

The service we experienced from the moment we stepped foot inside the hotel was outstanding. We arrived early and with a poorly baby, the staff couldn't have been any more helpful.
We stayed in a double room with a baby and young child. The room was spacious and cleaned to a very high standard. The furniture was modern and the bed linen/ towels were brilliant white.
The evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant were excellent with a childrens menu. Would definitely recommend to families or business.

We chose Gissons to celebrate our "Ruby Wedding Anniversary" and we are so glad that we did. Everyone was so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We had 60 guests, for a Buffet Party, with 24 staying the night. Everything was just perfect. The large family room was an absolute winner with our grandchildren. All our friends that stayed, said the rooms were very comfortable and clean. All in all a perect place to have picked for such a special day.

We stay at The Gissons every month as my partner has to travel down to Exeter for a monthly meeting & he has always stayed here the night before. I came with him for the first time a few months ago and i come with him every time now! It's a very relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff and the food is good too. Peter & Margaret are the managers and they always make us feel very welcome and it's nice to be recognised, they make the effort to stop and chat whenever they can. The rooms are clean, bright and comfortable. The towels are soft and fluffy and theres all the usual tea, coffee facilities in the rooms. Breakfast is also good with a good selection of food. This place is excellent value for money!!
