If you're looking for a place with beautiful outdoor areas, hammocks to relax in, lots of greenery, and a very pleasant atmosphere and nice pool, this is the place. Much more outdoor room than probably anywhere else in town, and the great weather of southwest Puerto Rico. If service and a nice room are important to you, forget it. We were the only guests for the three nights we were there. There was nobody else there, which felt a little funny in Puerto Rico, even though they insisted it was a very safe area (which it appears to be). When I say no one else was there, there were no staff there at all. They showed up for a few hours during the day. The rest of the time we had the entire place to ourselves, which was pretty special in many ways, especially if you don't like crowds. But forget getting anything at the restaurant. We arrived on Sunday, when it supposedly was open, but sat there for 20 minutes with no one in sight, so went into town to eat. The rest of the time it was closed. We were fortunate enough to have a helpful staff member offer to move a small refrigerator into our room, which really saved us (ask for one if you go!). We managed to get ice a couple times, but forget about any maid service, or much of any other kind of service for that matter. I like light, so I really liked our room (#8) on the second floor, with big windows on two sides, one looking out through the beautiful vegetation to sunrises and the sea in the distance. Unfortunately, there were both blinds and curtains on the windows which were almost impossible to open. And there were no screens, so with the plentiful mosquitos (bring some Off), opening the windows was out of the question. No fan in the room either, so we were left with the noisy air conditioner, which really would not have been necessary at night. The room was small, but I thought pleasant (my wife wasn't as excited with it). Bed coverings looked worn and one sheet had blood stains on it. The toilet and shower sit up on a platform in the bathroom (to make room for the pipes), but the bathroom was adequate. Chickens and cats made regular rounds through the grounds, and there were horses next door. The pool was beautiful, though chilly. If you can put up with the quirks described here, and like being outdoors, you will enjoy it. It's about a 5 minute, fairly pleasant, walk from town. We took the $6 trip to the bioluminescent bay, which they say is offered every night. If you do that, bring a swimming suit so you can get into the water (no wet suit needed). I had a neat experience in the water with the bioluminiscence (they give you about 5 minutes in the water). Otherwise, from the boat, you really don't see much. For $30 apiece they take you out in the boat and you get a kayak to spend about a half hour in the bay - it's worth it if you're really into seeing it. Be aware that the town (La Parguera) seems to shut down during the week, so many things are only open on weekends. The best, most reasonable, food we found was at Reef Pop, right across from the plaza.
