“Nice place but...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

I stayed in this hotel over the Christmas weekend. I think is a great place but I can not give a punctuation of excellence for one reason. They offer a package that will include breakfast, lunch and dinner and on weekends have a lunch and breakfast buffet, and is very good. But at least at dinner when they offer any dessert or drink other than water, they charge you that without telling you anything. When you finish and they'll surprise you with the bill and you have to pay it. The most ironic part is that inside the hotel they have soda's vendor machines and are cheaper and have more content than what they offer in the restaurant. Other than that the place seemed very good! Well maintained, very good air conditioning and the areas are very well cared and well maintained.

“A terrible night”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

This five star wanna be guest house is expensive. I had stay in motels that have a best quality. The room was terrible, was so small. The TV are prehistorical , bad cable reception, the toilet was broken. The area have a nice nocturnal live, but It doesn't have to feel in your room,, NO noise insulation. Mosquitoes in the room. They doesn't put you a bracelet and they are constantly asking you if you aree staying at the place..a bad pain.... (I think they are invoicing you enough money for that!!!) They rent you the room for 4 and they does not have even a two full beds for 4 adults. I did understand how they have the nerve to invoice you more than $100 per night for this place in low season....please people, area is nice, but your facilities and service are a terrible experience...

Room Tip: If you dare to stay, ask for rooms away from bars and street. Check if your bathroom is functional...

“Basic accommodations in the heart of LaParguera”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

We have been going to Villa Parguera of and on for over 35 years. I first stayed there at age 13 with my parents and it hasn't changed much since then. Located right in town abutting the town square (such as it is) you want to make sure that you get a room in the center of the complex. Other wise you will be in for some noise.

Parguera is a sleepy village and a favorite tourist spot for Puerto Ricans who come to see Phosphorescent Bay. The Villa P is a sleepy little hotel, too, except for on holiday nights when their night club is the hottest thing around.

This are basic, clean rooms with plenty of hot water. The A/Cs have all been replaced with nice quiet units. The beds are a little old, but you can get a good night's sleep.

Do not plan to eat at the hotel, especially breakfast. The food is fair at best and not good at worst. I don't understand why, in a place where fresh fruit grows year round, they serve awful canned fruit cocktail. Lots of carbs here; nothing like gravy on french fries, but that is apparently what the locals want.

I would not recommend going to La Parguera as a tourist unless you plan to rent a boat and head out into the mangroves or to one of the reefs for diving and snorkeling. There is not much to do in town once you have visited the 4-5 shops.

Room Tip: Ask for a garden view, second floor room. Make sure you are not on either end or your be up against...

“Best place to stay at La Parguera”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

This is THE place to stay at La Parguera. Check-in and check-out are hassle-free. Food is very good, waiters, maids, front desk personnel and the manager (that has been working here forever) are very competent, cheerful and accomodating. Rooms are very clean, A/C works very well, the hotel is very well kept. We visit this hotel alone and with our granddaughters at least twice a year. I have been coming to this hotel for the past 24 years with absolutely NO COMPLAINTS. We always rent a small boat (drive yourself) from Johnny's Boats rental next to the hotel and have been treated fairly all the time. The rates are very reasonable all year long. We recommend this hotel to our friends.

Room Tip: All rooms are very good but the best ones are the ocean front rooms.
