Our family group comprising 15 persons travelled to Oaklands from Gauteng, Durban and even Cape Town to celebrate my youngest sister's 60th birthday. We had the most memorable weekend with Annie, Caroline and Kathy. They pulled out all the stops to make our weekend wonderful! The accommodation and food was tops! Thank you to you and your excellent staff . We hope to be back in the near future.

We are a family of 4 (2 adults, teenager and a 5yo) travelled to van Reenen MTB challenge and spent 2 nights at Oaklands Country Manor.It was one of the most enjoyable holidays for us and for kids, and we all wished to stay longer. Fantastic views from all rooms, swimming pool, 2 dams with canoes, endless walking trails for all ages on the door step, trampoline, jungle gym, kiddies play room, tree house and swing; riding ring, tennis courts, fishing dam, most beautiful horses (some are available for rides to kids and adults). The a la carte restaurant was able to accommodate all needs, including lactose and gluten intolerance. Massage, Yoga and raw food were also on the menu. The owners and all stuff were attentive and hospitable; and really made us feel as welcome as good old friends would. For South Africa - extremely safe and incident free!!!

We recently spent two days at Oaklands Country Manor and enjoyed outstanding hospitality and excellent cuisine in this largely undiscovered gem set amongst the hills of Van Reenen on the Free State Kwazulu Natal border. The three sisters who run this establishment, Lady Caroline, Annie and Cathy, are so warm and welcoming, one instantly feels part of the family. We were accommodated in a spacious suite comprising a large comfortable bedroom with bathroom ensuite, spacious lounge and well equipped kitchen with an outside patio overlooking the polo fields and hills of Van Reenen. One of the highlights of our visit was the impressive cuisine provided by superchef Cathy and her very talented team. We enjoyed outstanding breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

The manor is a typical country farm where all the animals have a name. Particularly unique is the sweetest friendship between Sophia the donkey, and the little piglet named Pickle. They spend the entire day together and at nightfall, curl up amongst Pickle's family members, Pork Pie and Pork Chop! It sounds surreal, but seems perfectly natural in this undiscovered paradise, which is well worth a visit.
