“Disappointed”

We stayed in a 1 bedroom chalet, which is tacked on the end of the 2 bedroom chalets. Very small rooms taken up by the bed. No Ice on arrival for a cold drink, the fridge is the smallest I've ever seen and needed defrosting, the fan didn't work, the cieling light was falling down and the smoke detector started beeping on the last night. Pool was dirty. No Bin. IF I was going to stay there again, I would pay a little extra to get the 2 bedroom chalet. You don't see the small room in the photos. Point Samson itself is a very relaxing place to stay. We normaly stay in our motorhome at the caravan park. It was the small things that added up to a disappointing stay. Attention to detail needed.

Thank you for your comments we appreciate any feed back given to us.

We have 3 types of chalets here 2 bedroom fully self contained chalets, one bedroom fully self contained chalets and Ensuite chalets which offer tea & coffee facilities. I have looked at your booking and see you booked an Ensuite chalet for your stay over the Anzac long weekend not a one bedroom chalet as mentioned in your email I am sorry for any misunderstanding you may have in what type of room you booked.
All our 2 bedroom chalets are stand alone and are not next to other chalets as they sleep up to 10 people at any one time
In your email you mentioned the light hanging down, Sorry yes we have had a problem in the past with the down lights getting hot and popping out this has been hard to rectify as they only pop out once hot (when people have checked in and turned them on) but in saying this we are in the process of putting in new down lights to all chalets so this problem will not occur again.
As for the Smokers next door and the battery going flat in the smoke detector some things are out of our control. I am truly sorry you had a disappointing stay here and hope that in the future you may decide to give us another try.
The Pilbara is a hot, dry and dusty part of Western Australia one good gust of wind can change a sparkling clean pool to make it look not as appealing, hair clips are also a pool owners nightmare when left in your hair whilst swimming they can and have in the past fallen out causing them to rust almost overnight, we clean our pool regularly and I promise you it was done the morning you checked in by a professional pool cleaning company.

Hope to see you in Point Samson again!

My husband and I rented a chalet for the weekend for our anniversary. We live in a small inland mining town, and you need to get out occassionally. We were blown away by how great these chalets are! they are ultra clean and tidy, very well equipped and just such a nice get away. Point Samson is a great little town right on the water.
We've stayed in other places in Point Samson, Karratha and Dampier and none of them come close to the standards at the Chalets. We won't stay anywhere else now!

“very comfy at the chalets”

we are a family of five travelling thru the north west of west Australia and let me tell you after roughing it in a pop up camper it was a blessing to stay at these beautiful chalets. We had a two bedroom chalet with a very comfortable queen size bed for us parents and the three children had a bed each in a seperate bedroom [ bunk bed and a roll out ]. Each bedroom had a flat screen tv with free inhouse movies and after being stuck in a car camper with them for a week or so it was a godsend to have some peace and quiet. The chalet is very well airconditioned and there are ceiling fans if you want to get the air moving around. The kitchens are very nicely done with granite tops and glass splash backs with a dish washer and a reverse osmosis water filter with beautiful tasting water. There is no room service so you either have to walk 100 metres to the tavern for a meal or snack and there is a fish and chip shop called Mobys on the ground floor of the Tavern. There is a General store about 50 metres away that is open from 8am to 8pm and it sells fishing tackle, ice bait ,alcohol and pies and other junk food. There is a very good woolworths store in the town of Wickham about 10km away and it is very reasonable in price especially if you have just come from Broome.Point Samson is a very small town [unspoilt] and unless you make your own fun like swimming, diving fishing, exploring, beachcombing, gold prospecting and sightseeing you will find it boring but we didnt. There is also a small landscaped pool at the chalets that needs some shade over it,but Helen the bubbly cant do enough for you manageress says that will be in place by next summer. There can be a few sand flies around especially when the tides were huge but a little bit of rid keeps them at bay.And the chalets have mosquito coils that hold em of when your sitting on the Balcony having a beer. The chalets seem very quiet and not much occupancy but helen says they mainly have contractors staying who work very long hours and you hardly see them.Well we enjoyed our stay here the chalets are very comfy and a lot of thought has gone into them and the gardens make it a oasis in the desert. It aint cheap but I would be suspicious if it was.Enjoy

  • Liked — Quality fit out
  • Disliked — no shade over pool
