we are a family of five travelling thru the north west of west Australia and let me tell you after roughing it in a pop up camper it was a blessing to stay at these beautiful chalets. We had a two bedroom chalet with a very comfortable queen size bed for us parents and the three children had a bed each in a seperate bedroom [ bunk bed and a roll out ]. Each bedroom had a flat screen tv with free inhouse movies and after being stuck in a car camper with them for a week or so it was a godsend to have some peace and quiet. The chalet is very well airconditioned and there are ceiling fans if you want to get the air moving around. The kitchens are very nicely done with granite tops and glass splash backs with a dish washer and a reverse osmosis water filter with beautiful tasting water. There is no room service so you either have to walk 100 metres to the tavern for a meal or snack and there is a fish and chip shop called Mobys on the ground floor of the Tavern. There is a General store about 50 metres away that is open from 8am to 8pm and it sells fishing tackle, ice bait ,alcohol and pies and other junk food. There is a very good woolworths store in the town of Wickham about 10km away and it is very reasonable in price especially if you have just come from Broome.Point Samson is a very small town [unspoilt] and unless you make your own fun like swimming, diving fishing, exploring, beachcombing, gold prospecting and sightseeing you will find it boring but we didnt. There is also a small landscaped pool at the chalets that needs some shade over it,but Helen the bubbly cant do enough for you manageress says that will be in place by next summer. There can be a few sand flies around especially when the tides were huge but a little bit of rid keeps them at bay.And the chalets have mosquito coils that hold em of when your sitting on the Balcony having a beer. The chalets seem very quiet and not much occupancy but helen says they mainly have contractors staying who work very long hours and you hardly see them.Well we enjoyed our stay here the chalets are very comfy and a lot of thought has gone into them and the gardens make it a oasis in the desert. It aint cheap but I would be suspicious if it was.Enjoy
