“a-not-so boutique hotel with attitude problem of the owner”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

the hotel in downtowm we wanna book was totally full, so we chose this one and it was a mistake. it's in a remote location, pls remember to bring your driver's license. otherwise, only one bus departs 4 times daily during from beach to port, even during summer time, i think the location of this hotel is more suitable for those who planned to rent car during their stay!

*bright side - home-made kitchen with fantastic chef (must try their menu), we stayed there for dinner almost every nite. All staffs are very friendly! Nice gardening with different plants and flowers, nice seaview! 15 mins walk from hotel to kalafatis beach and 3 more restaurants down at the end of the beach but a bit over priced!

*dislike* - free wifi are only available in the lobby area and disconnection occured every half an hour. (not in the entire hotel as they said in booking.com). 2 couples owner are very uptight and not very friendly. pls don't expect any smile from them during your stay. on the contrary, the 1-and-almost-only staff are superb, helpful and attentive.

***something that we didn't expect during our stay***
we sent e-mail to their official website regarding arrival pick-up after booking confirmed (not asking for free) 3 weeks before our stay and got no reply from them at all. upon arrival, i asked 1 of the owners: did you receive my e-mail regarding airport pick-up and how much do you charge? and unbelievable answer from her: yes, i did!!! that's it?
we went to the beach with their room towers cos' we haven't seen any pool towers by the pool. when we return to the hotel, that the owner asked me: where did you take our towels to? we replied: we took it to the beach as we haven't seen any pool towers at the hotel at all. then she replied: you should ask first, we have pool towers locked in the basement!
1) they have no staff in the pool and no sign to show us: pls ask for pool towers at the reception
2) only 2 staffs working in the entire hotel - 1 is super busy serving us breadfast+lunch+dinner+cleaning+ from 07:00 till 23:00, the other one was only show up few times during our 4 nites stay.

Room Tip: go for the suites on the upper floor for nicer seaview and to avoid mosquito bites

“Peaceful location, friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2011

Located in a walking distance from the sea, equipped with the basic services, served by a friendly staff - this hotel is ideal for a peaceful week on this island.
Why to choose this location? Delicious food on the beach, crystal clear water, no mass tourism, in the evening a coctail by the pool, listening to the silence...
Why not? If you are longing for the noisy clubs in Mykonos city, it's quite far.
Renting a car on the airport is quite handy

“Amazing - superb place to enjoy the Myconian experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2011

My wife and I stayed at Anemoessa for 5 days at the end of June 2011! The hotel has a breathtaking view of the Kalafati beach on the left and a peninsula on the right! The location is fantastic; a spacious plain lays in front, and the hilltop where the hotel is situated is filled with palms, narrow pathways surrounded by lush flowers and bushes, all in perfect harmony with the characteristic Cyclades whitewashed houses!

The hotel's design in modern, yet very welcoming and relaxing at the same time. Rooms are spotless clean, and the service is impecable. There are two lovely ladies running the hotel, and a very amicable staff. They all welcomed us as we entered the hotel; a personalized approach that was noteworthy and remarkable.

Breakfast in the hotel is abundant and diverse. Pandos, the do-it-all guy in the hotel, will serve you promptly and in a friendly manner. In case you chose to have dinner in the hotel (prior notification needed), a menu of 36 Euro per couple (entre - main course - dessert) is prepared and will surely superate any of the pretentious and costly restaurants of Myconos. Anemoessa's forte remains the fact that the price of the hotel, as well as attached services, are affordable and somewhat normal, vis-a-vis the insanely expensive prices all over Myconos!

We also loved the 6 or 7 cats and kittens wondering about the hotel, playful and relaxing (unless you are one of the many Italians that invade the hotel and are afraid of kittens)!

Facing the hotel there is a car/bike rent place, where (bargaining suggested) you can rent a transporting vehicle (a must in Myconos, given the very few taxis in the Island).

We loved the hotel and we are definitely going back next time we drop by in Myconos!

“Very good, quiet and tendance hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2011

We stayed 3 nights and appreciate the simple design of the room, the quiete athmosphere, friendly staff, and very good price for value if u try the menu of the day.
Not to mention changing color pool at night... Or the blasting view overlooking the bay from the sundeck or rooms...
If you look for a quiet, clean and friendly place anemoessa is for u!
