“Family hotel for good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2011

I spent there 10 day in September. The hotel is located in the big garden with nice swimming pool and small one for the children. The food was ok not so special but acceptable. Hotel is located 800m from the beach (not 300 like in catalogue) but in this distance you can choose at least three locations of the beach. In hotel is limited place for any sport despit swimming pool and table tennis there is no. Big plus is the price and quality although the hotel has only 3 stars is better than the one opposite to it 4star.

Dear Guest
Thank you for writing this review, but we would like to inform you that you can see through Google maps the distance from Sirios to the beach. It is 350 m. and probably you had chosen to walk to the beach through the wrong way and not through Sirios private path.

“Tour Group Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2010

I booked this hotel on the internet for a quick weekend trip away from Athens with my husband and two kids (18 and 12). The hotel was a little out of the way, but we did not book it to be on the beach, but rather with a pool, so this was fine.Upon check in, we were asked for our voucher, and this was the first indication that I had chosen a 'tour group' hotel. The second indication was that they gave us the remote controls for the TV and the AC unit at check in, rather than having them in the room. They also only gave us one key card for the room. I asked for another and the woman told me NO. I asked why and she said we only give one key. I said that we were four people and would like another and she still said no. I did go back later in the day and spoke with another staff member and he had no problem giving me another key. Upon departing the reception area, a bus arrived, unloading a 'tour group'.
The room itself was fine. It was a two room accomodation with a small kitchenette with two burners, microwave and mini fridge and sink. It was also stocked with dishes and glasses. They left a welcome bottle of wine, that was already uncorked. hm. The bath area was large and fairly nice, although dimly lit. The bedroom area opened up onto a large balcony overlooking a garden area. It was also comfortable with four chairs and a small table.
In the morning breakfast is served in a large area and the seating was near the pool. It was very clean and was full of tour groups from 'the blond countries' (aka Germany, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway) The food was not very imaginative and the quality was not very good. It was very basic.
The pool area was nice, but a little chaotic. There were stacks of lounge chairs and you just place them where ever you like, so they were sitting all over the place. There was a pool bar and the staff was very friendly and the prices were very good for what you could get there. We had coffees and sodas and were happy to see inexpensive prices. Also you could get sandwiches and chips for very reasonable prices.
There was a path to the beach, which turned out to be about 6-8 blocks away, not too bad of a walk there, all up hill returning. On site there was an interesting area with a beach volleyball court, ping pong table and a over sized chess board. (6m x6m)
Overall, the hotel was okay, the room was fine, not luxury, the breakfast food was mostly dissappointing, The staff was okay.

“Horrific!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2010

This is the worst hotel experience I've ever had!!!!

The people who gave this place a good review are either mentally retarded or incredibly stupid.

This is a 2 star hotel at best posing as a 4 star hotel. The food was awful, rooms were mediocre (at best) and the service was unbelievably crappy.

The beach was too far away from the hotel and the road leading to the beach was not fit (or safe) for walking. (Fast cars - no sideway!!!!!)

Upon our arrival we immediately had problems. The surly waiters at the restaurant refused to bring us water – although I had requested it 4 times. Finally, after having waiting for over 15 minutes we told the head waiter that the service was unacceptable and demanded it to be put on the house - since we had already finished eating.

We then had to endure non-stop noise in our room for 4 days straight – since the two other rooms in our section were occupied by unsupervised children. In addition, the mattresses in our room were super soft - and I requested that they be replaced with firmer ones. Apparently the staff misunderstood me and ended up giving us even softer ones!!!!! (Although I had made it VERY clear that I needed something FIRMER - not softer)

After having repeatedly complained to the hotel manager about non-stop noise - they offered us 2 other - equally noisy rooms (facing the pool area) which we declined. Finally, on the 5th day (with 2 days left of the vacation) – we were given a reasonably quite room. (Facing the highway – but still better than hyperactive kids with no manners)

I requested compensation from the hotel manager Sophia - and insisted that she put our 15 Euro bill from the restaurant on the house. Unfortunately, this lady did not have the brains or decency to grant us the 15 Euros - so I had to take it up with the receptionist on our final day. He immediately put it on the house – as he was the only sensible employee on the entire staff. (Thank God, or things would have gotten ugly)

Do not stay here unless you enjoy lots of noise and low class people.

We would like to express our point of view regarding the above review from guest staying in our hotel and leaving from here with negative impression.
First of all we would like to explain that we never support the theory that we are a hotel on the beach. There is a small distance, and all the guests that they wish to visit us they can find on Google map the exact distance from high way or to the beach.
We do not agree with the negative comment about our staff, that is always very helpful, polite and generally much loved from our guests.
Sirios Village is a hotel suitable for family vacations and we offer accommodation to many families from all over the world. Regarding the above guests that they were disturbed from children’s noise we proposed them 3 times to move to another room that was available but every time they refused. Concerning our mattresses we would like to inform that we have the normal size and hardness, but we are all different and some people might prefer softer or harder. Although is not easy for us to change them for each guest need we did it tow times in order to provide the best possible service.
Our hotel has been open for almost 20 years with an impressive percentage of repeaters and satisfied with our service and hospitality guests.
Taking all the above in mind we are truly sorry that that some people do not have anything better to do than to write negative thinks just to reach the effect of harming a hotel.

“Nice hotel, superb pool area, very clean & good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2009

We visited this hotel in the beginning of September 2009. We have one three year-old and one baby. The pool area is perfect for kids (and the parents too). The whole hotel area is very well kept and very clean. The breakfast buffet was very well worth the price (good food and rich selections). We didn't have full pension, but tried the a-la-carte restaurant for lunch/dinner. Also good food and the potions were large. (As the waiter said "You're in Greece my friend, potions are BIG!") Good service.

We missed a sofa or more comfortable chairs in our 2 rooms apartment, but otherwise it was very nice.

The beach down the hill was nice, but not of the best in Greece. When we visited, it was quite windy down there.

Bring your own towels for the pool area/beach, you are not allowed to take the hotel towels out of your room.

There were nice familiy restaurants in the nearby area, and a short bus-trip to Chania city.

We didn't experience the evenings in the hotel, but there were some happeings mon, tue, thu. Because of the familiy profile, it got quiet early.
