“Convenient and Comfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2011

I stayed two nights during a ski trip to the Banff area, and was pleased for the most part with the hotel. The location to the park is awesome. It's just off the trans-Canada, about a km from the park entrance. Despite other comments, check in and out was easy, quick and straight-foreword. The hot tub was very welcome after a day of skiing, but closed too early at 9:30. The kitchen was fully equipped and very handy, and the living room featured new leather furniture, a fireplace and small flat screen TV.

I found the bed comfortable, and the unit to be fairly clean. The unit was showing some wear and tear. Several rips in the flooring, as well as some stains were evident. The bathroom floor and wall had some mildew stains, and the fixtures were not in perfect repair. Other reviewers mentioned road and train noise. My bedroom faced both, and with the windows closed there was no issue. Unfortunately I had a problem with the in-floor heating, which would not shut off. So even though it was well below freezing, I had to keep all the windows open, so the noise was annoying. I reported it to the office, but it went unfixed during my stay.

In general it was a good stay. I was looking for a hotel with kitchen and it met my needs. While I would be willing to stay again, I may choose to find a place in the town of Banff next time to enjoy some of the night life.

“Perfect for families”

We spent 7 nights at the Banff Boundary Lodge. We were greated warmly by reception and given advice on suitable restaurants, activities and supermarkets. We would like to thank Jemma for her hospitality. Only a few minutes drive to Canmore town centre and 15 minutes to Banff town centre proved to be convenient without paying high rental (great value). Just remember you need to buy a pass to enter the Banff National Park. We decided that it was more economical to purchase a year pass as we explored Banff and Lake Louise a number of times. The Lodge had all that we needed and was roomy enough for our family of five. The hot tub proved to be a real hit for our teenagers.

“Never had any problems”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2011

Please keep in mind that this is not a 5 star hotel. Myself and my fiance have stayed here many time and never had any problems with rude staff or dirty rooms or anything. In fact everytime we visit the Bow Valley this is where we stay. We like the fact that they are huge condos will fully equipped kitchens. If your kitchen is ever missing any supplies just visit the front desk and they will give you whatever you need. The housekeeping is not an issue either do your own dishes and make you bed when you get up in the morning... It is just like being at home.
Overall for anyone travelling who is looking for a condo hotel with good value where you can cook your own meals this place is great. I would and have recommended it to many friends and family.

“Incredibly hot rooms/NO housekeeping/rude staff”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2010

I have travelled extensively and this is truly the worst place I ever stayed. They have a serious heating issue that causes the upper level of the two level suite to be incredibly, stiffling hot. When I complained, I was told that is how the units are and to open a window (in December). The cabins next door have wood burning fire places, so the rooms quickly filled with smoke that set off my daughter's asthma. We turned OFF the heat, which made the lower level absolutely freezing, but the upper floor remained so hot that we could not sleep. When I complained again, and inquired about early checkout, I was told that my credit card would be billed even if I left early. Also, there is NO housekeeping at all. When we arrived back on the second day and noticed nothing had been done, we read the binder in the suite which stated that guests were to haul their garbage to the main bins outside, return wet, used towels to the front desk for replacements, and come to the front desk for any toilet paper or other toiletries as they ran out. This is not stated on their website, and they do not inform guests on check in. This place is horrible. We checked out early and now need to fight for our money...stay away.

I used to love this place, stayed there few times.
The last time I was very dissapointed, the place needs an upgrade or at least carpet cleaning. The carpet was so stained it looked like someone puked all over it.
The staff doesn't really care about customer service ,for them it is what it is.
