I stayed two nights during a ski trip to the Banff area, and was pleased for the most part with the hotel. The location to the park is awesome. It's just off the trans-Canada, about a km from the park entrance. Despite other comments, check in and out was easy, quick and straight-foreword. The hot tub was very welcome after a day of skiing, but closed too early at 9:30. The kitchen was fully equipped and very handy, and the living room featured new leather furniture, a fireplace and small flat screen TV.
I found the bed comfortable, and the unit to be fairly clean. The unit was showing some wear and tear. Several rips in the flooring, as well as some stains were evident. The bathroom floor and wall had some mildew stains, and the fixtures were not in perfect repair. Other reviewers mentioned road and train noise. My bedroom faced both, and with the windows closed there was no issue. Unfortunately I had a problem with the in-floor heating, which would not shut off. So even though it was well below freezing, I had to keep all the windows open, so the noise was annoying. I reported it to the office, but it went unfixed during my stay.
In general it was a good stay. I was looking for a hotel with kitchen and it met my needs. While I would be willing to stay again, I may choose to find a place in the town of Banff next time to enjoy some of the night life.
