“Best bang for the buck in Banff or Canmore.”

Stopped here en route to Kimberley. Large space, very clean, in floor heating, fireplace, flat screen HDTV with DVD player, well supplied kitchen, bath & Body Works toiletries, hot tub (didn't use), DVD rentals in main office for $3, new leather furniture, wireless internet. Wish it had a gym. Had to walk outdoor to suite (less than 50m). Would definitely stay there again.

“Cheap and cheerful”

With a two year old child, staying in a holiday apartment is a great option. We had a basement two bed and paid $75. This is a bit like having an apartment in a youth hostel - you pay hostel prices for a clean (spotless) and basic apartment with TV / DVD and your own kitchen. The decor and interiors are a little worn; the plates and saucepans supplied are fairly cheap quality, but LOOK AT THE PRICE!!! We have stayed in $250 two bed apartments in Canmore and while everything is a bit more fancy, it all depends what you are looking for. As long as the beds are comfortable (which they are) and everything is clean, as far as I'm concerned I would definitely use Rundle Mountain Lodge again and save my $.
One thing to consider though, as it is in Harvie Heights, if you want to have a few drinks you might be better within walking distance of Canmore centre. If you don't care, it is literally 5 mins drive from the centre of Canmore and you can have lovely walks up the hill through the hamlet.

“Keep coming back!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

The Banff Boundary Lodge in Harvie Heights may not be the most luxurious of accommodations, but they are definitely one of the most comfortable! The condo style rooms are very large (one to two+ bedrooms), that come equipped with a full kitchen and living room. The customer service is always friendly and accommodating. Dogs are allowed with no size restrictions, which is great, since I have large dogs and this is one of the few hotels they are able to stay at! Overall, a great place to stay when trying to keep a trip to mountains as inexpensive as possible. This is why my husband and I have stayed here many, many times!

“Great location, average amenities, good price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

Well, This great location at the door of Banff National Park has lots of room and affordable price. 2 rooms, 1-1/2 bathroom, gas fire place for approx 100$/ night on Expedia, tough to beat out there when you think a cabin runs for 600k$ ! The interior is little dated and worn. You can see wear mark on walls and floor. We`ve been unlucky on lacking stuff in the condo 104. I gave my list to the staff at the end of the stay. He was disappointed, No shower curtain, no oven pan, no oven mits no kitchen ink drain plug. We`re used to camping so no big deal. Good place for family stay. Very close from Canmore and quite close from Banff. They have a nice selection of rental movie for 3$ per day. Good stuff. It was our second stay within a year. Our first stay was more comfortable. Like their gas fire place and their hot tub. There is also 2 BBQ for public use outside. Mattress was a old beat up, very uncomfortable...

“Really good bang for your buck”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

This hotel has really good bang for your buck out of anywhere to stay near Banff. I have stayed at several hotels in the area and stayed here several times and I can tell you that you will get the most for your money here. For a very decent rate, you will get a fireplace, kitchen and bedrooms. There are a couple of things to note though - don't expect 5 star at the price you pay. There will always be a broken stool, towel bar, dents in the wall or some minor damage that they have overlooked. The rooms are also a bit noisy. You can usually hear the people above you walking around. But if you can put up with a few minor flaws, the rooms are clean and comfortable and at a great price. The service is usually really good as well.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the outside as then you will have a view of trees instead of a view of someone...
