“Good Price with a few problems”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 March 2007

We've been staying at Holiday Lodge since 2003 and we've had no problems with them at all till January 2007. We've always stayed in one or both of the Cabins and one time we had a Family Suites. We liked it because it was near the casinos and right across the street from Heavenly's Gondola. The only bad experience we had was this past January 2007 on Martin Luther King Weekend. We arrived Friday afternoon and by Saturday around 1pm our they shut off our water. A pipe had frozen over at the other cabin and they had to shut our down. They weren't sure when it was going to go back on, but they gave us another room to use to shower and go to the restroom. Then it came back on later on that night and by Sunday morning the water shut off again, the pipe burst in the other cabin and they had to shut our water down. We complained about having no water again and they were very sorry about what was going on and offered to refund our money back to go to another place or give us a room again to shower/use the restroom. So, we took the room again because it was a holiday weekend and there was no available rooms anywhere else. We stuck through it till checkout on Monday. At check-out the staff was very sorry for what happened, and refunded part of our money back because of what we had to deal with. Although, dispite what happened that weekend we would have definitely had come back next January, but Holiday Lodge and a lot of the other hotels/motels will no longer be there in April because they are being torn down to make way for a bigger newer hotel and convention center. Goodbye Holiday Lodge and thanks for all the good service!

Even for the price I still expected my room to be clean and not with the previous residents cheerios scattered on the ground (and this was after we got "upgraded" to the "suite" from the 1970's. The photographs for this place on their website must have been taken in 1902 when the motel was first built as it looks absolutely nothing like this today (and we seen two sets of their rooms).
The noise from other rooms was unbearable especially if you are in a downstairs room.
All in all our stay at the holiday lodge was horrible still not worth it even for that price.

“Full of frat parties”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2007

A terrible hotel that should be avoided. We stayed over new year 2006 and had a very poor experience. The walls were paper thin and given that many of the rooms surrounding us were full of college students sleeping at night was less than easy. The worst aspect however was the service. I have never met such mean-spirited and unhelpful staff. The receptionist gave us incorrect and unhelpful information on four occassions during a 4 night stay.

“This Hotel Was A Nightmare”

This Hotel is a horrible hotel to stay. We had an expensive item stolen from our hotel room by an employee and the hotel did not want to assist us in retrieving the stolen items. The Hotel was rude and would not take any type of blame for the situation. Horrible managment and overal a trashy hotel. Rooms were dirty and the hotel is old. They will hire anyone so be careful of this hotel.

“no air condition in the bedroom”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 July 2006

My son had a soccer tournament just for the weekend (on June 25th, 2006). We had the family suit with double beds and the other room with the sofa bed, little fridge, microwave, and kitchen. Overall for the price $140.00 including tax it was ok but we couldn't sleep those two nights because there is no air condition in the bedroom, there is only a cool/fan attached to the kitchen's wall wich is close to the sofa bed. The fan made too much noise at night that we could not sleep so we ending up turning it off.
