My stay at The Lodge on the 4th of July weekend of 2004 was completely different from the previous reviews. My family and a friend’s family stayed there for three nights. We shared a two room suite. One bedroom had a queen bed and the other bedroom had two queen beds. The living room sofa also folded out to a bed. There were two bathrooms and a full kitchen with a kitchen table. The room was just fine. We had four adults and five kids and never felt overly crowed. I don’t believe there is any A/C, but it’s Tahoe so you rarely need it, plus they provided two large fans. There was a heated pool and a Jacuzzi with a large patio area which included plenty of tables and chairs. Also, in the pool area were numerous new BBQs and utensils. We would BBQ by the pool while the kids swam and then just eat at the tables by the pool. The hotel also had a playground for children although we never used it. Kids wanted to be in the pool. Never had to deal with the staff except to get the key and pay the bill. They always had coffee brewing in the office and had an ice machine to fill our ice buckets. Location is great because you can take the back road to the casinos and be there in three minutes without having to get onto crowded Tahoe Blvd. The hotel is also within walking distance to the grocery store and the new shopping center. Also, staying at this hotel gives you access to the private beach on the Nevada side near Round Hill. Saves you $8 parking. Beach has a pool there (not heated) and a restaurant. You can also rent paddle boats, kayaks, and jet skis. The hotel is old, but it had been kept up pretty well. Bathroom had a little peeling paint and the pool could be resurfaced. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I would stay there again.
