“Perfect Tahoe Lodge”

Recently stayed at The Lodge at Lake Tahoe. It is a very nice, reasonably priced, family oriented place. We booked a 1 bdrm, full kitchen unit for a week - included a King size bed and fold out Queen sleeper sofa for $117 a night (with AAA discount). The queen sleeper mattress was a bit thin. The rooms were spacious and immaculately clean. The grounds were well kept and the whole place is a smoke free environment. The units near the road are a bit noisy from the traffic on Pioneer trail. The location is excellent - only a couple blocks from the Heavenly Gondola & the lake. Lots of restaurants nearby and a huge market - Raleys had everything we needed to fix our own meals. I would definitely stay here again.

“Good rustic Lake Tahoe accommodations”

We exchanged our time share to stay at the Lodge for a week. The place is very pleasant, rustic with comfortable beds, and a full kitchen. The unit had a DVD/VHS unit and you could rent movies at the office for $1. There was an adequate pool and hot tub. The place is on Pioneer Road, off the main highway going through the town, but close enough that you could walk to some of the casinos in Stateline. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. All in all, a very pleasant stay and we would return again.

“The blue world”

Just spent time in beautiful South Lake Tahoe while they were having a 'heat wave' with highs in the upper 80's. With no humidity and being from the south, we were just fine. Office very friendly. Had 2 bed/2 bath. New lodgepole pine furniture and new tile work throughout - very well done. Very clean. Full kitchen with most everything necessary for a quick meal. Gas BBQ pits out at the pool/hot tub. Close to the main road and just blocks from Heavenly and therefore the casinos in NV. ONLY complaint would be the low wattage lighting.

“Very, Very Nice”

I spent a week at the Lodge and found it to be above average. The girls in the office were very friendly and very helpful. I had a two bedroom, two bath apartment that was clean and very comfortaable. Decorated very nicely. TV's in both bedrooms plus the living room. Full kitchen with everything we needed and when we needed another pot we just asked the front desk and got it. All in all I would recomend The Lodge to anyone. Heated pool and hot tub. Not that I used them because it was too cold outside for me but other people did. Centrally located. You could walk to a lot of places. We had a very good time and I would go back.

“Had a nice stay at a good location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 July 2004

My stay at The Lodge on the 4th of July weekend of 2004 was completely different from the previous reviews. My family and a friend’s family stayed there for three nights. We shared a two room suite. One bedroom had a queen bed and the other bedroom had two queen beds. The living room sofa also folded out to a bed. There were two bathrooms and a full kitchen with a kitchen table. The room was just fine. We had four adults and five kids and never felt overly crowed. I don’t believe there is any A/C, but it’s Tahoe so you rarely need it, plus they provided two large fans. There was a heated pool and a Jacuzzi with a large patio area which included plenty of tables and chairs. Also, in the pool area were numerous new BBQs and utensils. We would BBQ by the pool while the kids swam and then just eat at the tables by the pool. The hotel also had a playground for children although we never used it. Kids wanted to be in the pool. Never had to deal with the staff except to get the key and pay the bill. They always had coffee brewing in the office and had an ice machine to fill our ice buckets. Location is great because you can take the back road to the casinos and be there in three minutes without having to get onto crowded Tahoe Blvd. The hotel is also within walking distance to the grocery store and the new shopping center. Also, staying at this hotel gives you access to the private beach on the Nevada side near Round Hill. Saves you $8 parking. Beach has a pool there (not heated) and a restaurant. You can also rent paddle boats, kayaks, and jet skis. The hotel is old, but it had been kept up pretty well. Bathroom had a little peeling paint and the pool could be resurfaced. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I would stay there again.
