We stayed at a 2 bdrm/2 bath townhome on Ala Wai. We have stayed at other properties managed by Tahoe Keys and enjoyed it. However, our stay at this townhome was very unsatisfactory. One of the toilets didn't flush and there was a napkin left on the toilet with the message, "Sorry, toilet doesn't flush" Very tacky! We were not told that there was a nonfunctioning bathroom when we checked in and it was never fixed during our stay, though I constantly reminded the management. The place was billed as a 2 bdrm/2bath. We had to use the toilet in the one 1/2 bath that worked and the shower in the other full bath with the broken toilet. The carpet was filthy with big black footprints and stains all over it. None of us walked on it with bare feet. The entryway closet door had cracked glass and was off its hinges. We have a small child and were very concerned about his safety around the door. There was a broken lamp in the bedroom, really dusty room fans and dirty glass doors leading out to the porch. Oil dripped down the wall from the ventilation fan over the stove when we had the stove overhead light on. We were really unhappy with the condition of the property for what we paid and will never stay there again. I would be ashamed to let a guest stay in my house looking the way 223 Ala Wai did when we arrived, let alone one who was paying over $200 a night. We were really disappointed. Even more disappointing was management's complete lack of attention to the matter. When we checked out, I informed the manager of the deplorable conditions. I got a "Sorry" and a card for 30% off our next stay. I emailed the housekeeping manager and got no reply. I also emailed our reservation agent and got no reply. Be wary if you stay at Tahoe Key's rentals. They seem to be hit and miss. This one was a definite miss.
