Full disclosure: I'm an SPG member and frequent business traveler.I pick hotels for location, and view them only from a perspective of working and sleeping.
The Sheraton Cavalier hotel is in a good location downtown in Saskatoon. The main entrance is a little odd with the outer doors and the inner doors: the inner doors are automatic, one still has to pull the outer door (unless you press the handicap access button). No matter, once inside the lobby it is modern and spacious without being overly grand. Typical of a smaller Sheraton. Evelators are room-key access only to the guest floors.
My room was nicely appointed, with a view of the river across the street. Otherwise not a standout but certainly what I've come to expect with Sheraton rooms: nice furniture, comfortable bed, etc. The bathroom was a little narrow. The space between the tub and the sink counter was just enough for one person. As I only needed space for myself, this is not a problem. Oftentimes, though, I travel with my wife and children and the shared bathroom space is a bit snug.
The Club Lounge was being renovated, leaving space in a "regular" room for the temporary Lounge. It was small. I was in as it opened for the day and the room was cooler than I'd like. The spread was satisfactory: oatmeal, eggs, bacon, and typical continental foods.
I didn't eat in the restaurant so I cannot comment on it. Overall a decent place to stay.
Room Tip: River views are nice, even in winter.
