“Not worth the $$!!”

We have stayed at the Delta Regina numerous times but our most recent stay (Feb. 2012) was by far the worst experience we've had a hotel where we were shelling out big bucks for a room. First of all, the room was in a disgusting state. There was a huge stain by the bed on the floor and the entertainment stand had dried on stains dripping down the front of it, like someone had spilled a glass of milk and the maid didn't bother to clean up the drips. The TV remote barely worked at all. My husband and I wanted to do a pre-Valentine's Day getaway from the kids and were mostly looking forward to the amazing Delta feather beds that we've had in every other room that we've ever stayed in at the Delta but our "suite", which we paid $250 for, didn't even have a feather bed on it. Not impressed.

As a former employee of the Delta brand, I also have to admit that I was less than impressed when I saw the mess outside of the staff elevators on our floor. There were plates, glasses, etc stacked outside the service elevator on the floor we were staying on and this mess stayed there on the floor for a good 6 + hours. It just doesn't look good.

I will say this, though, the front desk staff was extremely friendly when we were checking in.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. I will definitely be following up with our Housekeeping team to insure standards for cleanliness in our guestrooms as well as the corridors are being maintained. Due to the conceren with allergies we have removed all the feather beds from our rooms as well as removing all the feather pillows. (Feather pillows are always available should a guest prefer them though.)

“Had a nice sleep here.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I had a fine stay at the Delta. Some of the furnishings in the room were starting to show their age, but that did not detract from my experience at all.

I can't really compare it to any other hotels in Regina, but compared to other hotels in other regional cities I would say this is as good as any. I didn't venture too far from the hotel, but I noticed a couple of restaurants as I walked around the area.

I didn't really have any needs from the staff, but the ones I encountered were polite.

The fitness room was somewhat above average for a hotel.

“One of the better hotels in Regina”

Good rooms for Regina and helpful staff. The skywalk access is a plus for getting around without facing the cold.

“Staff worked hard to rectify problems”

We stayed at the Delta for 2 nights and our heat was not working. We should have called in the problem right away because it would have been easier to fix it. Unfortunately by the time we called it in, the mainenance man was out for the night. The security staff tried to fix it and could not. He brought us extra blankets and coffee to make things more comfortable. Maintenance fixed the heat first thing in the morning. The front desk attendant appologized profusely and did not charge us for the room or parking.
The next week, I noticed a charge on my credit card. The accounting staff rectified the problem right away and even gave my mom a discount on her room from that night. Our stay was not very comfortable but the staff really went out of their way to make things right for us. We will stay there again. (and will let the front desk know immediately if there are any problems). Thanks Delta staff!

“Fun at the Delta”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We went to the Delta on labour day weekend with a few friends and all of our children. This was a great stay for us because they took care of us. When one our friend's remote didn't work, they upgraded their room. Their hotel also offers a walking passage way over a regina street to Sears in the cornwall mall, and another to the casino (great in the winter time). The children are older so we left them at the hotel while we went to the rider game. While we were gone they shopped around the mall and watched movies--it was nice that we didn't have to worry about them crossing busy roadways. The Delta is a 10 minute walking distance from the Mosaic Stadium, therefore defeating any other worries we may have. The front desk staff was the best staff I had ever encountered. The downfall of the hotel is that the rooms aren't really that nice, they are rundown and lacking a modern feel.

Room Tip: **ask for a room that is NOT a corner room. The corner rooms tend to be smaller.

Thankyou for your comments on the hotel during your recent stay. We have recently completed lobby renovations and will be starting our guestrooms in the New Year. We do hope you will return and enjoy our new look. The connection to the Casino and shopping mall is surely a nice feature and makes the trip enjoyable.
