My title must seem obvious for the soundproof part because it is a lovely old house, you can't expect too much about that, but boy was the wood floor screeching! We were in the smaller room and maybe it was our specific location but we could hear everyone walking up the stairs and walking on the floor, it was like they were entering the room! So that was really uncomfortable...We could hear them talk as well.

I started with the bad part because for us it was really important and didn't make us feel that confortable in the house.
About the room: we had a small but decent room with really nice view on the lake, but bathroom really small.
The staff is really nice, very welcoming.

last but not least: AMAZING breakfast! I was so happy to wake up in the morning because I knew a feast was awaiting downstairs! On the sweet side: home made jams (4-5kinds), homemade cakes/pastries, hot freshly prepared dish, different kind of bread, on the salted side: cheeses, ''creton de porc'' which is a quebec pork spread and I think I forget others... It was truly a feast

This lovely historical house offers an incredible view on the St. Lawrence river and if you sit on the porche long enough, you can even see whales. The neighborhood is very quiet and the house is within walking distance of all the main attractions. The hosts - Lise and Paulin - and their staff are all wonderful. The breakfast is always a pleasant time as you get to eat all this awesome food (mostly home made), get to know other guests and hear the fascinating story of this 140 years old house. I would just add that because it is such an old house, it is not sound proof and it may not be recommended for families with young kids. Enjoy your stay there!
