“Very good place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Tadoussac is a small “village” that can be quite busy in holiday period but very quiet in low season. We booked a room in the Maison Harvey Lessart for one night in October.
The place is a little bit outside the village but located on a hill with the most incredible view of Tadoussac and the bay.
Rooms are very clean, small but really cosy, with a small terrace on the gorgous St Laurent river.
Our host were really friendly, and we had a great time the next morning during the breakfast were we spent more than two hours talking and eating delicious food.
A very good place to stay.

Be carefull at low season, in Tadoussac to go early enough looking for a reataurant, because they close quite early.

“5*room and breakfast”

It wasn’t easy to find an accommodation in Tadoussac so we decided to book this B&B because of the good reviews here on Tripadvisor. The house is on a hill just outside the village and we had the kingbed suite on the top floor. As we entered the room we just said “wow”. What a room and what a view. The room was really big with a kingsize bed and a Jacuzzi. There was also a toilet but as you don’t want to share everything with your company you can use the bathroom downstairs. The best was the big balcony and especially the view. You see the fjord and a part of the Saint Lawrence River. One morning we even saw belugas swimming in the fjord although the house is around a mile away from the water.
And the breakfast was fantastic. It was the best breakfast we had on our whole Canada trip. You get a several course meal (cold and hot). And each of them was more than delicious.
Be aware that the house is a little bit outside the center of Tadoussac. But to get to all the restaurants you need only a few minutes by car. We walked on both nights and it took us around twenty minutes. As the weather was perfect that was pretty nice after a good dinner in town.

“Breathtaking view, gourmet breakfast, wonderful hosts!!!”

This was the highlight of my trip to Quebec, Canada! I was so excited for the whale watching tour (which was truly amazing) and so happy we chose to stay at La Maison Harvey Lessard. I found this place thanks to trip advisor and it's members reviews and pictures. The breathtaking views were almost too much; I felt like I'd died and gone to heaven! My parents had the large suite on the top floor and I had a single room on the main floor, yet I had the same incredible view! My room was nicely decorated, clean, comfortable bed, and had my own balcony too. Mr. Harvey was warm, helpful, and oh-so-likeable. Mornings....beautiful to wake up and see the St. Lawrence seaway, boats and fjords. (did I mention the lovely garden steps from my balcony?) Breakfast....oh, yes, you will love it. They serve it in their beautiful dining room overlooking that view again, and the breakfast is exquisite! I only wish we had more than two days in Tadoussac. If you should ever go there to whale watch, see the fjords, bird migration, etc., you absolutely must stay at La Maison Harvey Lessard. You, too, will look back fondly on the experience!!

“Glorious View, Spectacular Breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

We spent three glorious days in Tadoussac at the end of August. It has to be one of the most beautiful places I've been to. The view from our room was unbelievable. I read previous reviews about the view but you have to see it to believe it. Many people only come up for a day to whale watch but we had two full days and I could have stayed longer. The B&B is at the top of a hill (just a quick drive or walk to town) and each room overlooks the St. Lawrence and Saguenay Fjord. We had five people so we booked the suite and a standard room. Believe all you read about the breakfasts. The food was freshly prepared, expertly presented and delicious with incredible attention to detail (table settings, ingredients, service and explanation of the dishes) Luc is very helpful and will make suggestions regarding restaurants, hiking and whale watching. The town is small and you can go through the shops quite quickly so the real draw here is the scenery and outdoor activities.

We had a great whale watching trip but next time I would take the Zodiac instead to get closer. As well, we hiked in the National Park to see the Belugas and it was so memorable. There were about 50 of them just bobbing in and out of the water. You can't see them up close but that didn't matter as the scenery is majestic and the sounds they make are unforgettable. Many people had brought picnic lunches and sat on the rocks while watching the Belugas. Luc will tell you how to get to this spot (only about 20 minutes from the town)

There are many hiking trails around the area and it's especially beautiful walking around the bay (I did it in the morning which was so lovely) We ate at Cafe Boheme both nights and the food was reasonable and delicious. Ask for Sarah....she was fantastic.

I took a pocket size French phrase dictionary with me on our trip and it really helped in Tadoussac as some of the menus were in French, but don't worry, most people speak English. It just felt respectful to try and converse a little bit in French.

Overall, our stay at La Maison Harvey Lessard was fantastic. I would guarantee you're getting the best view and the best breakfast in town. Luc was very hospitable, informative and friendly, the rooms were pristine with comfortable beds and all amenities (TV, internet access etc....)

If you are driving back to Quebec City I would suggest driving along the Saint Lawrence. The drive is beautiful with lots of stops, cafes and look-outs along the way (If you look on the website for Charlevoix you'll see the Shore Road or river route)

I'm from Ontario and I've never felt more proud to be Canadian as I was on our trip to Quebec. It's just such a spectacularly beautiful part of the country and everyone should go!

“Wow!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

La Maison Harvey Lessard is one of the most beautiful BBs I have ever stayed at. The decor is exquisite and the breakfasts absolutely superb, consisting of the hostesses own recipes from the area. And, our hostess is absolutely engaging and charming. Frankly, I do not know what else to say. Yes I do; I have attached a photo of the view from our room that says it all. It is, perhaps, one of the most beautfiul panoramas I ever saw!!

I highly recommend this B&B!
