Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, the buffet was warm and fairly good. For the price paid (about $100/nt+taxes) it was decent comfortable accomodation. It would have been nice if it were closer to the Art of Living Ashram we were visiting.

The Comfort Inn in Shawinigan is a newer hotel, very nice accomodations in a nice setting on the slight outskirts of town. The room was a very spacious suite, with a sitting room wit a couch and a bedroom off of that, as seen in the photos. The bathroom was really big too, with nice lighting and plenty of space. The breakfast buffet was decent - nothing too special, but a nice selection of grains, dairy and juices. I honestly can't remember if they offered eggs and meats.

Just off the parking lot is a nice overview of the river and trees.

Shawinigan is a small city in rural Qebec that has a couple of downtown streets with some restaurants and bars. We ate at the Le Trou du Diable (The Devil's Hole) named after a dangerous stretch of rapids on the river near the town. The food and house-made beers were excellent, and the restaurant itseld was very cool!

You've got a few choices in the area. I stayed at the Gouvernor once too, and that was a little more convenient to the downtown area, but not as nice as the Comfort Inn.

It is a ok hotel, nothing fancy but very clean. We went to Shawinigan for the first time and didn't know the area. There's another hotel fully equiped(auberge des gouverneurs)down town facing the river with plenty of restaurants near . There are no restaurants at the Comfort inn.
